shouldn't that be sending alarm bells ringing?

an asset (gold/silver) thats hard to buy or sell in this country (illiquid)

dont bother with it gold is overrated and currently in a huge bubble

Moving to Collectibles/Antiques as the closest appropriate place. It's not a thread that belongs in Irish Economy I'm afraid.

Sorry about that I am new,

Gold is not in a bubble to the contrary it has just taken off. What do you think will happen once all this new money [stimulus] by all the countries in europe has reach the consumer factor 9x with fractional reserve banking and practically 0% interest loans from the ECB expanding the money supply to prevent a recession with no end in sight. Not even to mention I fear the US DOW is in a bubble of its own already reaching 10k points and where is the jobs associated with this increase? Nada zip, US gov pumping huge amounts of money into the system and its trickling down.

I fear the USD$ is going to be toilet paper in the coming years with the ECB holding half a trillion of it at least.

I hate the irish gov with their 25% on bullion. I think silver is better investment against inflation than gold right now [ i realise its at a high too].
