That E Kadett Daewoo was sold as the Nexia in Europe, don't know if it ever came here (wasn't here for the 90's), seems it was sold as the Pontiac Le Mans in the USA. Jesus H. !! Talk about misusing a name.

Saw a good few Daewoo LeMans's when I was in Romania last year, the Cielo is also very popular over there, it was the only credible affordable alternative to the Dacia 1410/ Dacia SupeRNova. Friend of mine had one and she said it never gave any trouble, it had ABS and aircon and was very cheap to buy.

The Hyundai Stellar was largely based on the Ford Cortina (which Hyundai assembled)

Yeah, there's plenty of them over there, seen the odd one in Belgium and Germany too as it happens.

At last count, the car we know as the Kadett C was also called Chevrolet Chevette, Daewoo Maepsy, Izuzu Gemini, Izuzu I-mark, Holden Gemini, Pontiac Acadian, Pontiac T1000, Vauxhall Chevette, Saehan Bird, Saehan Gemini, Saehan Maepsy... and that's probably not all of them. :D

Still loads of the Daewoo Maepsy being driven over here. I was wondering where I had seen them before.
