Teenage Author. Help?

    Hi,
I'm a teenage author and have nearly completed my first book. It's around 40,000 words long. Based on vampyres and how a teenage girl deals with being a half-vampyre and has to save the vampyre race from the Shadows along with dealing with teenage problems.
I would love to get it published in some way. I need an agent, editor. Anything to get me started. If anyone would like to help me please do!
I know, vampyres are greatly popular at the moment but that's not stopping authors from writing series upon series about them. i think vampyre just draw peoples attention...

*warning* This book is written by a teenager and the character is a teenager too. Adult's probably won't enjoy it. :o

You'd be surprised. Most of my favourite books have now been repackaged as teenage books.

Try O'Brien Press. Read their submission guidelines and follow them. Then send your best three chapters, from different parts of the book, to them. www.obrien.ie.

I'm also writing a vampire book aimed at teenagers, though mine is about a space vampire who gets stranded on earth. Do you want to send me a chapter to have a look at?

What is a 'vampyre' as distinct from a vampire?

    Ye olde spelling.

Yes, it's just a different way of spelling it.

I got this from the internet:

"Vampyres are those who need the energy of others to keep themselves both healthy and sane, but they are nothing like the vampires you’ll read about in horror stories or fairy tales."

It sort of makes my vampyre feel a bit softer as it looks less 'scary' than vampire. Sort of badly explained but i hope you get the drift.

Thank you, i'll read their submission guidelines.

I'd love to read some of your chapters. You can do the same with mine if you like?
