As a forward, I like the idea of this forum to combat the doom and gloom!

I find the all time great happinesses are usually home related for me.

    - I live abroad so returning home. The best part is just waking up in the morning and going downstairs and having breakfast with my parents and brother and sister!

    - Getting to have some physical contact with friends. Not just the usual email, telephone, but a real pint in a pub, walk, hike, game of tennis, meal, party, whatever!

    - Christmas!

    - Being now able have a drink with or go to the pub with my younger siblings! As weird as it first was, it's now great that we can socialise together. Cudos to them reaching adulthood!

Hmm. Too much alcohol in my thread.
Someone come in and sober it up!

*hides glass of wine behind back and staggers forward a little* :p

I live about half an hour from my parents home and I LOVE going home to them too. I think it's the best feeling to be able to go home and relax and talk about your week and ask how their's went. So weird being all grown up! :)

And I completely agree that being able to go out for a few jars with younger siblings is great.

My brother and I used fight like cats and dogs. Now he's all grown up I'm just so proud of everything he has done and love meeting with him for a chat over a pint.

However I just love going back to my own house. Centre of town and my dog waits for me on the windowsill until I get the door open! :D

Yep, I'm coming home from abroad this Xmas too and there's a few things I'm looking forward to:

Being able to physically hug people, nothing like hugs for that warm fuzzy feeling!
Being able to eat certain things that aren't available here, and I'm craving the weirdest things: Jacobs Cream Crackers, real milk, Tayto sandwiches, Barry's tea, local cheese, mince pies...

Also, getting up late and finding that Dad has a fire lighting, curl up on the couch in Pjs and watch Xmas telly
Going out and catching up with friends
    Exchanging presents with family
Having a great laugh as Xmas is usually great craic in our house
