Of course its over 12 mths old, and the screen is damaged. My fault:o Was plugging in sons mp3 player via usb at the back of the laptop, holding the screen at the top to move it forward so I could see what I was doing. On returning screen to normal position my thumb must have put too much pressure on the screen and I heard a crack. The plastic front is fine - its whatever is behind it isn't - almost looks like a white window pane broken, can only see 1/6th of the top left part of the screen which is no good to save or backup to hard drive to rescue stuff.

does anyone know if its repairable? If so what am I looking at money wise as I was thinking of getting a better one anyway.....however timing bad have no money till after christmas. Am using back up computer now.

Also, can I save my stuff on the hard drive in the laptop to another computer or drive?

Sorry for all the questions - never did do a computer repair course:P

you should be able to connect to external pc screen and use it that way as temp solution till you get it sorted, have a look on adverts for screen or even post ad in wanted section there are plenty of broken laptops out there and surely someone will be able to help you out without having to fork out for a new screen
