    Here's the squad:

    Isaac Boss (Ballymena/Ulster)
    Ryan Caldwell (Dungannon/Ulster)
    Ian Dowling (Shannon/Munster)
John Fogarty (De La Salle Palmerston/Leinster)
    Chris Henry (Ballymena/Ulster)
    Ian Humphreys (Ballymena/Ulster)
    Denis Hurley (Cork Constitution/Munster)
    Felix Jones (Shannon/Munster)
    Ian Keatley (Galwegians/Connacht)
    Andy Kyriacou (Malone/Ulster)
    Keith Matthews (Buccaneers/Connacht)
    Fergus McFadden (Old Belvedere/Leinster)
    John Muldoon (Galwegians/Connacht)
    Frank Murphy (Buccaneers/Connacht)
    Johne Murphy (Leicester Tigers)
    Mick O'Driscoll (Cork Constitution/Munster)
    Niall Ronan (Shannon/Munster)
    Mike Ross (Clontarf/Leinster)
    Donnacha Ryan (Shannon/Munster)
    Brett Wilkinson (Galwegians/Connacht)
    Bryan Young (Ballymena/Ulster)
    AN Other

I must say it doesn't look like the team will be as strong as that which played Tonga. No Strings, SO'B, Darren Cave, Horgan or Trimble, all of whom were really impressive that night. Looks like the lads who were brought into the senior squad to hold tackle bags before the Aus game will get a run out, which is fair enough I suppose.

Are tickets on the gate? Wouldn't mind heading along to see how rugby looks in the stadium and Friday's are dull now that Rovers' season is over.

    Team so looks like:

    F. Jones
    J. Murphy
    F. McFadden
    K.Matthews
    I. Dowling
    I. Humphreys
    I. Boss
    C.Henry

    AN Other (McLaughlin/Best?)
    D. Ryan
    M.O'Driscoll
    M.Ross
    J. Fogarty
    B.Wilkinson

    Subs:

    A. Kyriacou
    B.Young
    R. Caldwell
    J. Muldoon
    F. Murphy
    I. Keatley

Not a great team but good for A level. Should be well too good for what will in effect be a 3rd choice Argentinian side.

I'm assuming tickets are on the night - anyone know a good pub between the Square and the ground itself?

edit: out of interest, was Best released back to Northampton? McLaughlin and SOB were called up to the Seniors, so wondering where he's disappeared to.

The Maldron Hotel is opposite the stadium and the usual pre-match drinking hole for Rovers games. Always a good atmosphere.

That's actually a shockingly good question. I was expecting him to be called up to bench in the first squad, I'm really surprised he's not in this one.

He played for Northampton last weekend anyway, don't know if he's still there.

I don't think there's any pubs between the Square and the stadium. The Arena Hotel would probably be your best bet.

The square shopping center is right across the way. Plenty parking in there, not really familiar with the area as ive only been there once or twice but i'm pretty sure the outdoor parking lot doesn't close till very late, if at all.

Parking in the square shopping centre is now paid parking.

1st hour is free, 2nd hour is €1, 3 hours is €2 and so on.

The car parks are usually quite full on a friday with late night shopping so it might be difficult.

There is limited parking at the ground and across the round behind the hotel/woodies but that might be closed bt 9pm or so, i'm not sure.

The Luas will bring you almost to the door of the stadium btw.

The maldron hotel bar is the only place for a drink if you want to be with the match crowd...

The lads from tallght RFC will be there enjoying a selection of fine whiskeys and any other fine spirits available to them before the match I'm sure!

It may be on Argentinian TV, not every soccer match is on TV but invariably a link can be found online.

Maybe some Argentinian channel would be showing it which basically means its not on TV (as it wouldnt be available here anyway) but technically could still be streamed online.

About 99.58% of soccer matches are on TV (somewhere) and then streamed online.

Cant see the the Argies sending a film crew over but if you find a link you'll be flavour of the month if you post it.

Wasn't one of Ireland's U-20 matches online but not live on TV last season? Also Ukraine vs England WC qualifying.

The tickets in Elvery's were €5 Schoolchild and €10 Adults. I'd assume it'd be the same on the gate.

    from irishrugby.ie:

    http://www.irishrugby.ie/283_19078.php
IRELAND 'A' 19 ARGENTINA JAGUARES 0, Tallaght Stadium (Att: 4,016)

Scorers: Ireland 'A': Tries: Ryan Caldwell, Ian Dowling, John Fogarty; Cons: Ian Humphreys 2
    Argentina Jaguares: -

Ireland 'A', with a slight wind behind them, engineered the first scoring chance of the night, but out-half Ian Humphreys was wide with a sixth minute penalty from the ten-metre line.

But Humphreys quickly got back in the groove in open play, kicking well for field position and helping to set up the game's opening try.

On 12 minutes, a quick attacking burst from the home side exposed gaps in the Jaguares defence, and Donnacha Ryan and Humphreys linked before lock Ryan Caldwell touched down following some sustained pressure.

Humphreys' conversion attempt was off target, and the Argentinian side enjoyed their first spell of possession in the Irish half until Ireland 'A' won a penalty which Humphreys cleared to touch.

Fergus McFadden looked the part in the opening quarter, making some surging runs through midfield, and the defensive duties took their toll on the Argentinians when Ireland 'A' spread the ball wide to pick up their second try on 28 minutes.

Winger Ian Dowling was the scorer, dotting down in the corner after good approach work involving McFadden and Humphreys, with the latter adding an excellent conversion for 12-0.

The first half was a stop-start affair with Ireland 'A' never being able to move through the gears, thanks to some committed defending from the visitors and a lack of precision from Michael Bradley's men.

Ireland 'A' spent much of the closing stages of the first half camped in the Argentinian 22. Replacement Ian Keatley, on for Keith Matthews, slotted in at inside centre, and Humphreys booted a close range penalty to touch. But time ran out on the Irish forwards and the half-time whistle sounded with the scoreline at 12-0.

Ireland 'A' made a swift start to the second half, getting right back on the offensive. Three minutes in, team captain Mick O'Driscoll secured lineout possession and hooker John Fogarty rolled in on the end of the maul. With the support of his team-mates, Fogarty wrestled his way over the try-line - much to the despair of the Argentinian forwards.

Humphreys' conversion took Ireland 'A' into a 19-0 lead, with the attendance confirmed at 4,016.

Felix Jones played very well. McFadden great lines and at least one great kick to touch.

Anyone else thinks its good results like this that makes Bradley a nice looking option for the Leinster job? just sayin

Ireland A blitzed to a 31-0 victory over Argentina Jaguars in crisp conditions in the first ever rugby international at the Tallaght Stadium tonight.

First half tries from Ryan Caldwell and Ian Dowling saw the hosts take a 12-0 half-time lead and they failed to let up on the restart.

The 4,016 in attendance saw an inspirational second half display from Leicester winger John Murphy, who broke through for tries in the 53rd and 58th minutes.

Connacht hooker John Fogarty was Ireland's other try scorer, in a game which saw Michael Bradley's charges fail to show any mercy to Argentina throughout.

    Good result for Ireland.

What about the attendance. Seems poor to me considering alot of people at the match would not be from Tallagh.

I made an executive decision that I wouldn't be able to last 80 minutes with this hangover in that cold - i'm sure i'm not the only one who did tonight as well - and in all fairness I can think of very few A matches that have had stellar attendance.

Horan on the wing could score tries against Leeds.
