RTE News tells us the M50 is closed at Ballymount due to a multi vehicle traffic accident, probably southbound. It's not on AA Roadwatch, but I'm just giving people a heads up.

No doubt the rubberneckers will jam up the northbound, too.

Actually, just reminded me of coming northbound today, people were braking to see the new bridge at blanch

There was a lot of rubberneckers going northbound after the accident - when I was passing the tallaght exit (northbound) I thought the radio presenters had made a mistake or something on what side the accident was on coz the traffic was so bad northbound - sure turns out it was just idiots slowing down to stare.

Hope everybody was ok who was involved in the accident.

The fúcking retards slow at the sight of a flashing light even if it belongs to a JCB. It's absolutely ridiculous!

I remember heading southbound one day to work, and the traffic was moving so slow I thought there was a breakdown. Well, there was a breakdown, on the other side of the fúcking road!! As soon as I passed it the road cleared up in no time.

Plastic or timber fencing along the route would stop it :D

Your forgetting its ireland, common sense often goes out the window. Came to a craw today as the traffic slowed to watch some guy welding on the new bridge

Lads, actually is it a good idea to slow down when you see an accident. There could be debris on the road, or if the accident has just happened you might need to stop and help people out.

Not if the accident is on the other side of the motorway...

Rubberneckers should get a fine and penalty points.

Again today the queue was back 2 lanes to the toll from the new bridge at blanch because a welder was working on it. The second we passed under it their was no slowdown the whole way to the M1 interchange.

How do people manage to crash on the M50, I mean it has 2 to 3 lanes and the traffic is going the same way. Its the height of ignorance these inconsiderate road users should be thought manners Twats.

a good kick up the arse is all they need! Its an accident get over it or else wait till ya get home and youtube it. I never understood it. Especially since the concrete barriers would block the view anyways
