Got a job! Informing the social..

I'm asking on behalf of my mother-in-law, who's over the moon at just being offered a job and is busy polishing her broomstick as we speak.

    Here is a brief timeline:
    • April 2009 - Put in a claim for JA.
    • July 2009 - Claimed SWA and got it, including lump sum from application of JA in April.
    • November 2009 - JA application refused on the grounds of not satisfying HRC.
    • November 2009 - Letter sent to Deciding Officer asking for decision to be changed, outline details why mother-in-law feels she fulfils the HRC.
    • November 2009 - Mother-in-law finally received a job offer (after numerous knock-backs), gladly accepted, starting tomorrow morning at 7am.

    Four questions, please:
    • Should mother-in-law write in a letter to the Department of Social and Family Affairs, asking to withdraw her JA claim as she's now in employment? (Prefer to write than call).
    • Should mother-in-law then call the Community Care centre, advising she no longer requires SWA as she's now in employment?
    • When does her entitlement to receive SWA cease? I mean, she normally collects her SWA at the post office every Thursday. Should she go this week? Next week?
    • Mother-in-law will be working 26 hours per week and (I believe) will be entitled to FIS (her youngest son is 16 and is in school). When and how should this be claimed?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Is there anyone who can help me with the above 4 questions?

Anyway, if I could ask 2 more.. :p
    • How long does FIS take to be approved, following application?
    • Once approved, is payment backdated to the date of application?
