Very very good chance its the only one in Ireland. I've seen a couple 182's and 192 but not a cup version of that model (that was obvious from walking / driving past)

.....Did you not believe the salesman?? :D:D:D

    Very nice.

    Haven't seen any others either

Believe the sales man? He told me it was actually a re-badged ferrari spyder :D:D!!!

Have to say its a crackin little car, its unbelievably fast, comes alive around 5500 rpm and the sachs dampers ensures it sticks to the roads and tricky corners.

Im 27 years old though and i think the car is 'a bit young' for me, but i enjoy driving it so its my last fling before i buy something 'sensible'..... a dirty word!!

Stunning car, very unique, have fun.

Savage little car, I've driven a fair few clio's 182 but never the Trophy. Very desirable future classic.

I would make sure the dampers are 100% as they are insanely expensive to replace (over €1500 each!!)

http://cliotrophy.co.uk/ is a great site for owners.

Good luck with it and drive safe!

Cheers for the kind words lads,

I am getting a full 'once over' next week so i will make sure the dampers are 100%. The car only has 6500 miles done (confirmed), the previous owner was abroad for nearly 2 years, so in the meantime there were rats living in the bonnet and they made sh1t of the padding and material, so I will have to make sure that there is no elec damage, although i doubt it as it drives as new! ;)

I know that there is definately a blue 06 one up north (its owner lives in Lisburn), and I would suspect that there is one more up north more as my flatmate who used to have a Clio 172 Cup, told me he saw two clio cup trophies at a renaultsport owners meet.

27 and you feel the car is a bit young for you!? I dont plan on getting a sensible car unless I've money for 2 cars until i'm well over 35! (i'm 26)

The cup trophy only comes in Capsicum Red colour so I would doubt the blue cup you saw was an original trophy (unless re-sprayed)? I would well believe that there is an orignal in the North!

Just checked, yea the guy in Lisburn must be a badge imposter! I'll ask my flatmate what colour the ones he saw were!

How much was the car OP?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,795 ✭✭✭Neilw

Nice car  There is at least one other car in the south.

Have the sachs dampers been rebuilt yet? Lot's of trophy owners having them done as they are starting to fail.

Only 6000 miles done so i would hope they're ok for now, although Irish roads and all that!! Any idea of anyone around Dublin who can repair and rebuild the sachs dampers? I know of a crowd in the UK who do it but surely someone here can do it?

    7-8k??

Hard to say really, the milage is very low, but it's also got unknown problems with the rats etc.

Another auction house, a good friend of mine has contacts and basically put it on a plate for me. I was in the market for 318ci msport and had no intention of touching a clio but my mate told me i had to take a look..... glad i did now! i will sell it on in a year or so, doubt i will lose much if any money on it?

Considered by EVO mag as one of the top 10 best drivers car's ever. It was joint 7th with the Ferrari F50.... That's pretty impressive!
