Well...to be honest, it did seem he hadnt done much tv acting before and is getting used to it, but in fairness, its hard to act Singing...fya know what I mean.

I agree... tho I do find this one slightly less annoying because the dude with the beard actually looks like an ok guy and an average joe.

OP: your problem should be with the makers of the ad.. the actors are only doing what they are paid to do.

I saw that add being made! It was in temple bar.

I never realized how much effort goes into making an advert! They were filming for 3 days!!! Then I saw the add....20 seconds...my god! They must have sang that song hundreds of times!!!!!!!

I don't know why they were shooting for so long but they seriously did it hundreds and hundreds of times!!!! (I was in an apartment above them)

Actually quiet like the ad, you have little to be worrying about OP if a chap in a 20 second mobile phone advert bothers you so much...
At Least its an Irish advert made in Ireland for Irish TV.

What about those stupid fookin Texaco "Text message" adverts with the Americans in them on Irish tv.
How do they make it out that a 30 second ad is a texaco text message??

I actually like the Meteor ad with the carol singing quite a lot. And I generally hate watching ads.
But I know well they are going to ram it down our throats from now till beyond Xmas so I'll probably hate it in about 2 weeks.

Why are Vodafone not showing the one from last year with people ice skating on Grafton Street? It was sooo Christmassy. The snow one is ok but the way the guy calls his girlfriend "babe" makes me want to twist his balls hard.

There's a sequel to the beard guy ad now, showing his gang of mates on their way to the "carol-off" and it's way worse. The 3 D4, Irish model types in Santa suits going "hey goys!" and the car load of fúcking ponces practising their singing. I don't mind the original as much, the posh fúckheads singing "Deck the Halls" are way worse, especially that smug looking girl

It's an alright ad in one way because they're using a normal Joe Soap kind of man to front it.
In another way it's annoying though, because they're obviously going for the Seth Rogen effect (he'll get you pregnant, and act like a d*ck but he's quirky charm will win you over:rolleyes:). Irish advertising would never dare go out on a limb unless it's been done elsewhere before.
