I updated my ipod touch recently with the 3.1 firmware. All grand, bluetooth unlocked, voice memos, shake to reload, copy and paste etc

However, the speaker has stopped working? Headphones work fine, but not the speaker. Even when I press volume without the headphones attached the volume slider doesn't appear (the headphones clider appears if they are attached)

    Strangely, it fixed itself.
A new App was stalling, so I powered off and on.
    Speaker returned

Off the top of my head,
    wireless headhones,
wireless p2p gaming (eg we can play against each other in racing games like on a DS)
Ipod to ipod/iphone data transfer (files, pictures, contact data etc, obv not music or films)
General blutooth connectivity with other devices
