Just watched 'My Finale' again tonight, and got me thinking about my favourite ever Scrubs moments.

(5) "Safety Dance":
Carla: We are supposed to be a team, that means you ocassionally have to listen me and my opinion. What if we have a daughter and she wants to get her ears pierced?

Turk: Irrelevent... we're not having a daughter.

Carla: Ok... what if we have a son and he wants to take dance class even though all his friends are off playing football.

Turk: He can dance if he wants to...He can leave his friends behind...*sings* 'Cos his friends don't dance and if they don't dance, then they're no friends of mine... S-S-S-S-A-A-A-A-F-F-F-F-E-E...

Perfectly captured J.D.'s obsession with Cox as a father-figure and Cox's evil genius.

*Just after the hilarious Sanford and Son song from Turk to Carla, JD arm wrestles Kylie while Turk arm wrestes Carla*

J.D.'s Narration: Unfortunately, Turk wasn't on the same wavelength.

*Turk slams Carla's arm down*

This was the scene that perfectly captured how Scrubs was so much more than a comedy. I get teary-eyed every time I watch it.

Some people have said it's too cheesey/schmaltzy or whatever but I couldn't disagree more, the song fits perfectly and for me was the first time in ages that Scrubs really touched me.

The first time I watched it I thought it was good, then I watched the second episode and thought I was watching the 1st again, and same for 3rd...4th....n

A truly ridiculous show.

1. Cox at the "Kids Party":

Incredible scene.. McGinley is superb, the music by Joshua Radin is fantastic and the build-up and eventual reveal at the climax is 'Scrubs' at it's best!

2. My Old Lady Montage:

'Scrubs' had a tradition of having at least 1 or 2 serious heart-wrenching scenes a season. This was their 1st - the whole backlash of the "1 in 3 patients dying" scenario was incredibly played out and John Cale's "Hallelujah" was pitch-perfect.

3. Waiting For My Real Life To Begin

Very sad episode.. and the closing montage of musical pieces by the cast were absolutely fantastic. Think this episode was Emmy nominated for this scene alone!

Could have probably chose another 4 - 5 there actually.

I adored Scrubs.. I adored it's first three years (the years I own on DVD) and although I do think it's a shadow of it's former glory now, it's repeats weeknights on Comedy Central (of seasons 4 onwards) still guarantees a laugh.

Don't think I could even put together a funniest moments top 5 or 10.. there's far too many!

All-in-all, it's still probably my favourite comedy!

Yeah, I tended to find the schmaltzy stuff detracted from the show as a whole. I agreed with family guy when they said "Scrubs proves that you don't have to be funny to be a comedy"

That being said, the first few seasons where and still are, comedy gold. Although they are flogging a dead donkey at this stage. The last 3 seasons have been abysmal.

Like Friends though, a lot of people will only remember the later seasons and forget just how fresh and well written the early seasons where. There is a reason these shows can be repeated forever and still pull in viewers.

Anyway. Loved this scene from Scrubs.

But TBH one of my favourite episodes is Michael J Fox's Kevin Casey's super-consultant.
Love the interaction between Casey and Cox (love it when he beats Cox in the medical knowledge contest- he looks so disinterested after he wins with ease).
Love it when he says to JD at the end- "Everybody's got their own burdens, JD, and i'm not gonna be one of those people that dumps their problems on someone else".
IMO, Fox delivers an incredible performance.

Have to be the "How to Save a Life" moment and the last scene of the Finale "Book of Love". This marked the end of Scrubs for me.

"Guy Love" was hilarious, and after watching My Overkill, I had to download the song.

Edit:Also, that scene where JD sings Kung Fu Fighting in the elevator always makes me laugh.
All the episodes with Brendan Fraser were brill too.

The first one - "inside Turk's head" - is an alternate (more jazzy) version of the 'Sanford & Son' theme tune..
