Where to get hitched abroad

So, we are moving away from a big wedding at home. Family circumstances proving too difficult to over come.

We've been to South East Asia and Fiji before, so we'd like to get wed somewhere closer to home - Italy, or... Greece, with the white washed building on the hill... you know the one, the typical picturesque postcard of greece.

Anyone have any ideas where we can start, where to go, particularly interested in talking to someone who has done it or is in the process of.

I have no idea where to start...

It'll likely be just us two, maybe one or two friends, but very low key

    THANK YOU

Hi, I am in the process of organising my wedding and so far have my heart set on France with Spain coming in at a close second. I am planning a mid size wedding approx 70 guests and hoping to get away from the norm of a hotel.

For something on the smaller side from doing alot of homework, I have to say that Croatia or Malta looks fab and can be very intimate.

You really need to decide on a place and then do alot of research.

You also need to know if you want a church/hotel wedding reception as this will shape your search.

I know that I do not want the church or hotel so my search began with private hire venues and places I could get married outdoors.

Greece looks amazing and Santorini particulary good and extremely cheap if Greece is your thing. I think best to search in google as this is where I started and basically type in 'weddings in Santorini' etc. That way you will find venues, planners and so on.

Let me know how you get on....

    Happy Hunting :)
