Dj Jazzy Jeff playing Cork on 20th December, doesn't look like he is doing a Dublin show like last time either

Saw this a while back as happened to be on the Twisted Pepper web page, very low key advertising. Might head into this after the lunch time office christmas party

One thing to note......its a DJ set playing the Echo Party Album. This is not an album of Edans music, it's music from a label and he has mixed it together, reversed it, echo'd it, put his own spin on it. So he should have the usual setup but i doubt we'll hear any of his songs or him on the mic.

It still should be great, because lets face it, he knos how to put on a live show.

Well rocked in there last night after the chrimbo party so memory is bit hazy. Edan pressed a button and played an album with a visual show, left the stage and stood wathcin the show from the crowd (hardly anyone there early) whilst have a guinness. Music was decentish, had a drunken chat with him about something

After that there was some sort of photography thing, bit strange and i must have left after that

had to miss it last night, sounds like it could have been interesting!

When is the Brother Ali one? That could be good but does anyone actually listen to the guy? I think he's pretty good.

It's in March. Yeah I listen to alot of Brother Ali, there are a good few others who do as well. Even a few people have started listening to him based on recommendations here.

I really like Brother Ali, I went to his last gig in Tripod at the start of the summer of 2008, well it was actually an Atmosphere gig but Brother Ali came on and did a few of his own joints. He's very good at getting the crowd going and has a great stage presence.........so I'll definitely be going to the next gig.

Thanks for the heads up on the Talib Kweli show on Saturday night in the tri-pod. Show was great and Kweli killed it.

I only thought it was alright. Talib is a brilliant mc, but there where just a few hip hop gig cliches that i'm not into any more. How many times do i have to raise my arms in the air, then i have to wave them etc....then through up a fist, then an L....gets old.

But i like the whole thing of playing some old soul numbers and old hip hop tracks. The best part was when he used the beat from k-os's Superstar.

But the b-boy that got up on stage was great, have seen him a few other times and he always kills.

Another thing that annoyed me is that he didnt play his best song Manifesto. I was talking to my buddy The Expert while Talib was on stage and i was saying that i would love to hear him play Manifesto. But, the Ex asked him earlier if he would play it but he doesnt have the beat or even remember the lyrics to it. :(

I also thought MJEX put in a good performance and thought the venue was great.

I get what your saying but hadn't been to a show in a year so. So I guess those things didn't really bother me. Just caught the end of MJ and TX but they seem very good. Like to see a full show from them.

I caught a Kweli gig in Milwaukee back in June and he done Manifesto. He also done it at the Manifesto festival in Toronto which was in September i think. Seen a video of it. Surely he can't forget it a few months later. Must not have wanted to do the track in Dublin.

Blu, Exile and Fashawn have announced a European Tour but to fit in with the latest trend, Ireland is not of the fixture list.

    Feb. 6th - Berlin
    Feb. 11th - Erfurt
    Feb. 12th - Leipzig
    Feb. 13th - Munster
    Feb. 16th - Paris
    Feb. 18th - Linz
    Feb. 19th - Moscow
    Feb. 20th - Gent
    Feb. 21st - Rotterdam

I'm assuming that Munster is the city in Germany, and not the province where Orizio resides.
But if any of you are in Germany next week, or Moscow on the 19th in are in for a treat.

Gift of Gab from Blackalicious playing Crawdaddy on 16th March

This show has been cancelled according to Ticketmaster but when I checked the Crawdaddy website and serched for the gig it said that Gift of Gab will be supporting MixMaster Mix in the Button Factory on the 16th of March (possibly down to poor ticket sales?)
