Well, for a big 4 PPV, it was pretty poor:(:(

WWE Survivor Series Opener:

We get a video package highlighting the history of Survivor Series, from traditional Survivor Series matches, to the debut of the Undertaker. We get a look at the triple threat match between Show, Jericho and the Undertaker, before we get footage of the other feuds heading into tonight.

The opening pyro hits, Michael Cole welcomes us to the show, and this one is ready to start. We get a traditional Survivor Series Tag Team match to kick things off as it's going to be Team Miz vs. Team Morrison.

Traditional Survivor Series Match
Team Morrison (John Morrison, Evan Bourne, Finlay, Shelton Benjamin and Matt Hardy) vs. Team Miz (The Miz, Sheamus, Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre)

Miz is out first, followed by the other members of his team, each of them coming out separately.

Evan Bourne is out first for Team Morrison, followed by Finlay. Matt Hardy is out third for his team to a decent pop from the crowd. Shelton Benjamin is out next, followed by team captain John Morrison.

Bourne and Swagger look to start things out for their respective teams. Bourne uses his quickness to sidestep Swagger a couple of times before Bourne connects with a roll up. Bourne goes for a small package, but Swagger counters with a suplex and tags in Ziggler. Ziggler makes his way into the ring and hits a nasty neckbreaker variation on Bourne before sending him into the corner. Ziggler hits a crazy belly-to-back suplex and he tries for the pin but Bourne kicks out. Ziggler hits a series of elbows before taking off his elbow pad and hitting one more high impact jumping elbow. Ziggler makes the tag back out to Swagger.

Swagger makes his way in and tries to wear Bourne down with a chin lock but Swagger just pounds him down and tags in Ziggler. Bourne comes out of nowhere with a huge double knee drop on Swagger, but Ziggler is the legal man, and he locks in a nasty single leg crab. Ziggler pulls Bourne to the center of the ring, but Bourne fights out and hits a great hurricarana from out of nowhere. Bourne is able to make the tag to Hardy and both Hardy and Bourne go to the middle rope to hit dual elbows on Ziggler. Hardy hits a side effect on Ziggler before tagging in Bourne who hits a beautiful shooting star press. Bourne pins Ziggler and he's gone. McIntyre is in an he hits a double arm DDT on Bourne. He pins him and Evan is gone. Finlay is in like a house of fire on McIntyre.

McIntyre is able to make the tag to Sheamus, who comes in and hits a nasty kick to Finlay's face. Sheamus pins Finlay and he is eliminated. Hardy is in to work on Sheamus, who he puts back in the corner with a lariat. Hardy goes for a side effect but Sheamus fights out of it and hits a big slam on Hardy.

Sheamus tags out to Miz who comes in and continues the assault on Hardy, pounding him down in the corner before distracting the referee to allow Miz's team to take advantage of Hardy. Miz locks in a rear chin lock and the crowd tries to get behind Hardy. Hardy is able to fight out of the submission, but when he goes for a slam, Miz is able to hit a reverse neckbreaker, DDT combo. Miz goes for the pin but Hardy kicks out. Miz locks in another chin lock, but Hardy fights out yet again. Hardy hits a side Russian leg sweep and both men are down.

Miz is able to tag out to Swagger who tries to wear Hardy down in the corner. Hardy is able to surprise Swagger with a couple of blows, but Swagger pounds on Hardy's back to put him down to the mat. Swagger locks in a rear chin lock on Hardy and he's able to fight out again, this time into a sleeper/neckbreaker combination on Swagger.

Morrison is able to tag in and he comes in with some quick offense on Swagger. Morrison hits a beautiful dropkick and running knee, but Swagger is able to toss Morrison in the corner. Swagger goes for the Vader bomb, but Morrison moves out of the way. Morrison hits Swagger with a springboard kick to the head but McIntyre and Sheamus are in to break up the cover. Hardy and Bejamin are in to take out the heels, and the ref is taken out in the melee. Swagger almost hits the gut wrench powerbomb, but Morrison fights out of it. Morrison is able to connect with starship pain, and another ref is down to make the count. Swagger is gone.

Miz is in from behind and he attacks Morrison. Miz connects with his corner lariat, before going to the top turnbuckle for a double ax handle. Miz locks in a rear chin lock but Morrison is able to fight out. Morrison makes the bling tag to Benjamin who comes in and surprises Miz with a roll up. Miz is able to kick out, but Shelton's offense is too explosive and he hits a beautiful leap from the top rope, splash and Northern lights suplex in succession. Benjamin hits a German suplex, but he still can't keep Miz down. Sheamus surprises Benjamin with a headbutt and Miz is able to connect with the skull crushing finale to take Benjamin out of the match. Hardy is in quickly but Miz makes the tag to McIntyre. McIntyre is able to work over Hardy with a couple of quick strikes, but Hardy is able to come back with a drop toe hold into the corner. Hardy hits a neckbreaker and he goes to the second rope for a big leg drop. Hardy covers McIntyre, but he kicks out.

Hardy goes for a moonsault, but McIntyre avoids it. McIntyre hits his big Kobashi DDT, pins Hardy, and Hardy is gone.

Morrison is in and pounding down on McIntyre in the corner, but when the ref breaks it up, McIntyre is able to get the upper hand with a sneak attack. McIntyre tags in Sheamus who comes in and continues the beat down on Morrison. Sheamus makes a quick tag out to Miz who's in with a big kick to Morrison's mid-section. Miz screams at Morrison, but Morrison blocks a punch and gets in a coupple of blows of his own. Morrison surprises Miz with a big heel kick, but Miz is able to tag out to Sheamus who is in with a big forearm to Morrison's head. Sheamus distracts the ref long enough for both McIntyre and Miz to get a coupple of licks in. Morrison starts to fight against all three men, sending McIntyre and Miz to the floor. Sheamus counters a springboard kick with a kick of his own to Morrison's knee. Sheamus hits a running Crucifix Powerbomb, pins Morrison, and this one is over.

Winners and Survivors: Drew McIntyre, The Miz and Sheamus

Backstage:

Team Kofi is shown backstage strategizing. Christian says that he doesn't know if his teammates are aware or not, but he's different than them. Henry says the all have one goal and that's to win. Christian says that makes him feel better since he's the only one from ECW. Christian asks is everyone thought it was because he was Canadian. Christian talks a little bit about Canadian rappers with R-Truth before doing a freestyle pointing out the fact that he's the only white member of the team. The rest of his team look a little confused, but they put it behind them a laugh it off quickly.

Batista vs. Rey Mysterio

Mysterio is out first, and he's not running around with quite as much energy as he normally does. He slowly makes his way to the ring, talking to some of his fans on the way down.

Mysterio bails to the floor and Batista paces the ring, stalking him. Batista finally lets Mysterio back into the ring, and the bells rings. Mysterio uses some of his quickness to duck Batista and scoe a couple of kicks. Rey fights out of a slam and hits a dropkick to Batista's knee. Mysterio teases the 619, but Batista bails to the floor. Rey follows him out, only to be slammed back into the ring apron. Mysterio is able to surprise Batista with a quick kick and headbutt, but Batista comes out of nowhere with a huge lariat to put Mysterio down to the mat.

Batista teases the Batista bomb, but Mysterio is able to fight out and hit a chop block to Batista's knee. Rey sends Batista into the ropes with a dropkick to the back, but when he goes for the 619, it's blocked by Batista. Batista tries for the Batista bomb, but Mysterio pounds away and counters with a hurricarana to the outside. Mysterio follows up with a baseball slide to send Batista into the ringside barrier. Batista fights back and sends Mysterio back into the ring, but Mysterio surprises Batista with a 619 to his back, then stomach, then a final 619 to Batista's face before hitting a springboard senton. Mysterio goes for a frog splash but Batista gets his knees up.

Batista hits a giant spear and Mysterio is down. Batista picks up Rey and hits a huge spinebuster before stalking Mysterio and picking him up again. Batista takes his time executing a Batista bomb, but he doesn't go for the pin.

Batista picks Mysterio up again and takes him down with a second Batista bomb. The referee checks on Mysterio for a bit before Batista picks up Mysterio for a third Batista bomb. The referee calls for the bell.

Winner by referee stoppage: Batista

After the match, the medical staff is out to check on Mysterio who is selliing his injuries. Batsta makes his way back into the ring with a chair, which he uses to sit down next to Mysterio. Batista gets up, and tosses the chair aside before picking Mysterio up and throwing him over his shoulder. Batista throws Mysterio down with a vicious spinebuster on top of the chair before he calmly walks to the back.

The medical staff is back in the ring to put a brace on Mysterio and put him on a backboard.

Backstage:

Team Orton is shown backstage. Orton said he felt a lot better earlier, because he thought he'd be standing next to the ECW champion, two men that should show the world what the future should be like, and the straight edge World Heavyweight Champion. Punk says Orton should have led by example. Orton says it can all be erased with a win tonight and that is what he expects them to do.

Traditional Survivor Series Match
Team Kingston (Kofi Kingston, MVP, Mark Henry, Christian and R-Truth) vs. Team Orton (Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase, Cody Rhodes, William Regal and CM Punk)

CM Punk is out first for his team, followed by William Regal. Legacy are out third, followed by their leader and team captain, Randy Orton.

Kofi Kingston is out first for his team to a really good pop from the crowd. We get a video recap of what happened on Raw between Kofi and Orton.

Punk tries to jump Truth as soon as he gets to the ringside area, but the referee is able to hold him back. Truth asks the fans 'What's Up?' as the faces make their way into the ring. Orton and Henry look to start things out for their respective teams.

Henry is quick to hit a big splash on Orton in his own teams corner, before sending all the other members of Team Orton to the floor. Henry locks in a bear hug on Orton, but the ref is distracted and Legacy breaks it up. Orton his an RKO on Henry and pins him for the three count. Orton bails to the outside and confers with his team as MVP waits in the ring.

Orton backs up MVP into Orton's corner where he tags in Dibiase who helps pound down on MVP. Really quick tags here as almost every member tags in to stomp away on MVP. Punk locks in a rear chin lock, but MVP fights out and hits a quick belly to belly suplex. Truth makes his way into the ring and hits Punk with a couple of quick right hands and a big hip toss. Truth ducks a clothesline from Punk, but he gets distracted and falls victim to a G2S from Punk. Punk pins Truth, and Truth is gone.

Christian is in and he is able to hold his own against Punk for a bit before falling victim to a body slam. Dibiase makes the tag into the match and executes a double stomp. He goes for the pin on Christian, but Christian kicks out at two. Dibiase hits a big scoop slam and he looks for the Dream street. Christian tries to counter with the killswitch, but Dibiase counters with a slingshot into the corner. Christian launches himself over Dibiase and grabs him with a sunset flip. The ref counts three and Dibiase is gone. Regal is in quickly to pound on Christian, but Christian tags out to Kingston, who is all over Regal with some big strikes.

Regal tags out to Rhodes, who beats on Kingston for a bit, but when Regal tags back into the match, Kofi is able to fight back a bit with a couple of right hands, but he falls victim to an exploder bomb. MVP tags in and hits a Chono kick, and gets the pin to eliminate Regal.

MVP tags out to Christian who comes in and is beat down for a bit by Rhodes. Rhodes locks in a body scissors, but Christian is able to fight back and stand up, turning it into a roll up, but Rhodes kicks out at two and hits an explosive clothesline. Randy tags in and hits a beautiful dropkick, but it's still not enough to keep Christian down for a three count. Orton stomps away at Christian's midsection before tagging out to Rhodes. Rhodes misses a knee drop and Christian makes the tag to MVP. MVP comes in with a series of clotheslines, and a facebreaker. MVP hits the ballin' elbow, but MVP is distracted by Orton. This allows Rhodes to hit cross Rhodes, and get the pin on MVP, eliminating him. Kofi surprises Rhodes with a roll up, but he can't hold him down.

Kofi makes the tag to Christian who falls victim to a boot to the gut from Rhodes. Rhodes tries to leap frog Christian, but Christian connects with the killswitch and pins Rhodes for the three. Christian hits Orton with a couple of big right hands, but Orton pulls Christian down face first into the corner.

Orton surprises Kofi and sends him to the floor, but it allows Christian to catch Orton is a surprise roll up. Punk distracts Christian and allows Randy to try for an RKO, but Christian counters with a killswitch. Christian tries for the pin, but Punk breaks it up. Christian charges Orton in the corner, but Orton moves and Christian connects with the ring post. Orton connects with an RKO, pins Christian, and the ECW Champ is gone. Kofi is the lone man and Orton tags in Punk.

Kingston and Punk talk for a bit before trading blows. Kofi comes out on top, but Punk is able to get him in position for the G2S, Kofi fights out and tries for the Trouble in Paradise, but Punk ducks it. Kofi connects with a dropkick before hitting the SOS, but Punk is able to kick out of the pinfall attempt. Kofi tries for a splash in the corner, but Punk is able to move out of the way and the tide of the match turns. Punk lands a big kick to Kofi's back, and he tries for a pin, but Kingston kicks out at two. Punk locks in a leg lock on Kofi's neck, but Kofi fights out by kicking Punk in the head.

Punk connects with a powerslam and goes right back into a leg lock, this time it's a body scissors on Kingston. Kingston fights out with a couple of elbows to Punk's head. Kofi tries for a splash but Punk gets his knees up. Punk blows the fans a kiss before hitting a big falcon arrow, but Kofi is still able to kick out of the pin attempt.

Punk connects with the high knee to the jaw, but when he tries for the bulldog, Kofi counters with a belly to back suplex. Kofi goes for the top rope, but Punk catches him with a right hand. Punk goes up and tries for the superplex, but Kofi fights out of it and sends Punk back. Punk is quick to come back, but Kofi sends Punk down again and connects with a giant cross body, but again it's only good for two. Kofi connects with a couple of strikes and a high kick to Punk before being distracted by Orton. Punk tries to roll up Kofi, but Kingston rolls through and ends up holding Punk down for a three count instead. Orton is in the ring and Kingston immediatly connects with the Trouble in Paradise out of nowhere. Kingston pins Orton and this one is over.

Triple Threat Match
Undertaker (c) vs. Big Show vs. Chris Jericho

Striker recaps what happened on Smackdown this past week, leading into this match. Chris Jericho's music hits, and he makes his way down to the ring.

Big Show is the second man out, and he seems to get next to nothing in terms of a reaction from the crowd. Big Show stares down Jericho as soon as he makes his way into the ring. There's a long pause but the crowd still goes nuts when the Undertaker's gong hits and the lights go out.

We get formal introductions for everyone before the match begins.

Jericho and Show look like they're on the same page to start things off as they catch Taker in the corner and beat down on him for a bit. Undertaker tries to fight back, but the teamwork of Jericho and Show is too much to overcome as they trade off with Jericho kicking and Undertaker punching Taker. Show launches Undertaker into the corner and he drops him with a clothesline. Jericho clotheslines Jericho over the top rope but Taker lands on his feet and drags Jericho to the outside. Taker pounds on Jericho for a bit, before working over Show's midsection with lefts and rights. Undertaker goes for a big boot on Jericho, but Jericho moves and Undertaker ends up straddling the barricade. Jericho knocks Taker over the barricade and holds him up for Big Show, who hits a knockout punch to Taker's stomach.

Show and Jericho are finally able to get Taker back into the ring, where Jericho stomps away at Taker. Jericho directs Show, telling him to stand on Taker's throat. Jericho goes to the outside and punches away at him. Show pounds on Taker in the corner, and the Tag Champs send him across the ring. Show sends Jericho into Taker, but Taker moves and Jericho's shoulder connects with the ring post. Undertaker is able to fight back against Big Show, connecting with a jumping lariat and sending Show to the outside. Undertaker hits a couple of big splashes on Jericho before sending his head into the turnbuckle, but he gets pulled to the outside by Show. Undertaker sends Show head first into the ring post and he goes back up to the ring apron. Jericho tries to surprise Taker with a springboard dropkick, but Taker connects with a big fist instead. Taker goes for Old School, but Jericho crotches Taker on the top turnbuckle.

Jericho tries for a superplex, but Undertaker fights out. Jericho is persistent, comes back, and connects with a superplex on the second attempts. Jericho tries for the cover, but Undertaker is able to kick out at two. Jericho mounts Undertaker and hits him with a couple of big rights before going for the lionsault. Jericho connects with Taker's knees, but he's able to immediately lock in the Walls of Jericho. Jericho keeps Taker in the middle of the ring, but Big Show makes his way into the ring and catches Jericho with a chokeslam. Show tries to chokeslam Taker, but Undertaker counters with a DDT and all three men are down.

Jericho tries to pin Taker, but he kicks out at two. Jericho tries for the pin on Show, but Show kicks out with so much force it sends Jericho to the outside. Show and Taker trade blows in the middle of the ring with Taker getting the upper hand. Show gets his hand around Taker's throat and tries for the chokeslam, but Taker tries for one of his own. Jericho comes in and hits Show with the title belt, but falls victim to a big boot from Taker. Undertaker tries for the cover but Jericho kicks out at two. Taker sends Show to the outside. Taker picks up Jericho for the last ride, but Jericho has the belt and he smashes Taker in the head. Jericho slowly makes the pin, but Taker is able to kick out at two.

Jericho teases the tombstone, but Taker reverses into tombstone position. Big Show catches Undertaker with the knockout punch and goes for the pin on Undertaker butJericho breaks things up. Jericho goes for the cover but Show breaks things up. Jericho tries for the code breaker, but Show catches him and tosses him aside before hitting the knockout punch.

Big Show tries for the chokeslam on Taker, but the Undertaker is able to counter with Hell's gate. Undertaker clamps down, and Big Show is forced to tap.

Winner and STILL World Heavyweight Champion: The Undertaker

Backstage:

Josh Matthews is standing backstage with The Miz, Sheamus and McIntyre. Miz says that what we saw tonight was just a taste of what these three have to offer. He says at Bragging Rights he proved he was better than John Morrison, and tonight he proved he was a better leader. McIntyre says that when Mr. McMahon said McIntyre would be a future World Champion, he meant it, and tonight everyone saw what he meant. Sheamus says that it might have even been a bit too easy, and that if they don't bring the competition to him, he's going to bring it to them. Miz says there was never any doubt because he's the Miz, and he's awesome.

Traditional Survivor Series Match
Team Mickie (Mickie James, Kelly Kelly, Melina, Gail Kim and Eve) vs. Team Michelle (Michelle McCool, Layla, Alicia Fox, Beth Phoenix and Jillian Hall)

Kelly Kelly and Layla are starting things out for their respective teams. Layla takes Kelly down and pounds away at her head before trying for a quick cover. Layla hits a low dropkick to Kelly's back and goes for another quick cover but it's not enough to hold her down. Layla misses a kick in the cover but Kelly sells it anyways. Kelly starts to fight back, and is able to hit her step up leg drop, getting the pin and eliminating Layla. Kelly Kelly's top completely fell off here. Her entire breasts were exposed and she ran to cover up. We have six photos of the nipple slip below. You must be 18+ to view the pics. McCool is in and she pounds away at Kelly, who is forced to tag out to Kim. Kim tries for a hurricarana, but McCool turns it into the Styles Clash and eliminates Kim with a pin.

Eve comes in, as does Jilliam Hall, who goes to work by pulling at Eve's hair. Jillian connects with a quick forearm, but she dodged a dropkick. Jillian stomps away on Eve and sends her into the corner, Jillian goes for a back elbow, but Eve gets her knees up. Eve goes up to the top and connects with a sunset flip to pin Jillian and eliminate her. Phoenix is in and she hits her finisher on Eve to eliminate her with a pin. Kelly Kelly is in and she suffers the same fate as Eve, being eliminated after a finisher from Phoenix.

Mickie James is in and she's able to use her quickness to catch Phoenix in a crucifix. James gets the three count, but she's immediately caught off guard with a big forearm from Phoenix. Alicia Fox is in and she tries to pin Mickie, but Mickie kicks out at two. Alicia connects with a Northern Lights suplex, but Mickie holds on and locks in a front chancery. Alicia picks Mickie up and slams her into the corner before setting her on the top turnbuckle. Mickie kicks Alicia away and connects with a big splash on Fox. Mickie pins Fox and gets the three count to eliminate her. McCool is right in the ring to work on Mickie with a series of stomps and leg drops.

McCool locks in a rear chin lock, but James is able to fight out of it. Mickie backs McCool up into the corner, but McCool attacks her from behind before she can make the tag. McCool twists the arm, but Mickie counters into a modified lariat. The crowd begins to get behind Mickie, but it dies down pretty quickly. Mickie tries to make the tag, but McCool holds her back and hits Melina, sending her to the floor. Mickie is finally able to make the tag to Melina, who comes in and hits two big spears before pounding on McCool.

Melina sends McCool into the ropes and hits a double knee drop to her back. McCool goes for a kick but Melina ducks into a back bride to fight out of it. McCool grabs Melina by her hair though and slams her down to the mat. McCool picks Melina up, but Melina counters into a sunset flip powerbomb to put McCool's shoulders to the mat for a three count.

Winners and Survivors: Melina and Mickie James

Backstage:

We get a recap of what happened earlier in the night between Batista and Rey Mysterio. Todd Grisham is backstage with Batista. Batista asks Grisham if Mysterio was embarrassed tonight, well Batista was embarrassed for him.

WWE Championship
Triple Threat Match
John Cena (c) vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H

DX actually enter together for their title match against John Cena. They get a very warm reaction from the crowd.

HBK hits Triple H with Sweet Chin Music right off the bat and Cena (and the crowd) is shocked!

Michaels and Cena square off with Micheals hitting a quick neckbreaker. Michaels chops away at Cena, and connects with a Thesz press. Michaels chops away at Cena in the corner, but Cena is able to fight back with a bulldog. Cena connects witha fisherman suplex, and he sends Michaels into opposite corners hard. Michaels ends up hung up on the top turnbucke, and Cena kicks away at him, getting him right in position for the AA, but Michaels fights out into a modified DDT.

Michaels hits Cena with a chop block that puts him on his back, and he continues to work over the knee, kicking away at it, and hitting another chop block. Michaels locks in the figure four, and Cena screams in pain.

Cena is able to turn Michaels over, reversing the pressure and forcing Michaels to break the hold. Michaels and Cena trade chops and punches respectively, with Cena getting the upper hand with a shoulder block. Cena goes for another shoulder block, but Michaels side steps him and Cena flies to the outside. Michaels launches himself over the ropes and wipes out Cena with a slingshot cross body.

Michaels starts to take apart the announce table, but when he picks up Cena, Cena catches him in position for the AA. Triple H breaks it up, but Michaels turns right around into a spinebuster through the table from the Game.

Hunter goes to work on Cena, sending him into the ring. Cena fights back with a couple of right hands, but he's quick to fall victim to a spinebuster. hunter goes for the pin, but Cena kicks out at two. Triple H punches away at Cena, keeping him down on the mat, before picking him up and launching him into the corner. Hunter pounds on Cena for a bit before launching him again into the opposte corner. Hunter goes for the pin again, but Cena is still able to kick out.

Hunter hits a neck breaker, but it's only good for another near fall. Hunter charges Cena in the corner, but Cena gets his knees up and fights back. Hunter surprises Cena with a predigree attempt out of nowhere, but Cena fights out and slingshots Hunter into the corner. Cena is slow back to his feet, and he falls victim to a quick lariat from Hunter, again good for a near fall.

Hunter and Cena trade blows in the middle of the ring and Cena is able to get the upper hand with dual shoulder blocks before his modified belly to back suplex. Cena hits the five knuckle shuffle before stalking Triple H for the AA. Michaels breaks it up and sends Cena shoulder first into the ring post. Hunter and Michaels stare each other down in the middle of the ring.

Hunter sends Cena to the outside and that allows Michaels to hit a couple of inverted atomic drops and chops, but when Michaels comes off the ropes, Hunter catches him with a high knee before following it up with a face buster. Michaels hits a flying forearm, and kips up, but it's right into a spinebuster from Hunter. Triple H tries for the pedigree, but Micheals counters into a backdrop.

Michaels goes to the top turnbuckle where he almost falls off before he's crotched by John Cena. Cena goes up to a different corner, and goes for a top rope leg drop on Hunter, but Hunter moves. Michaels connects with a big elbow drop, but he's sent to the outside by Hunter. Cena locks in the STF on Hunter out of nowhere in the middle of the ring.

Michaels comes in from behind and locks in the crossface on John Cena, forcing him to break the STF. Cena stands up with Michaels on his shoulders, but Michaels battles out, only to be put into the STF.

Michaels is able to make it into the ropes to force Cena to break the hold. Michaels connects with sweet chin music on Cena and follows it up with another on Triple H, who lands on top of Cena. the ref starts the count, but Cena kicks out at two!!!

Both men are slow to get to their feet, but when they do, Cena catches Hunter with the AA, but Cena looks exhausted. Michaels makes his way back into the ring, slowly, and both Cena and Michaels crawl to make the pin. Both men make the pin on Hunter, but Hunter kicks out at two.

Michaels tries for SCM on Cena but he blocks. There's a crazy series of events with everyone trying for their finisher. Michaels hits SCM on Hunter, and Cena connects with an AA on Michaels on top of Hunter. Cena pins Triple H, gets the three, and retains the title.

Can't see a Sheamus/Finlay fued happening soon, unless they meet in the Rumble, which is what will likely happen. Finlay eliminates Sheamus, Sheamus gets pissed, attacks Finlay etc. But no point moving Sheamus to SD for the fued, and moving Finlay to Raw would be a bad move I think, cos then he's back with Hornswoggle.

I think I heard that Mysterio's knee is giving trouble again, so Batista destroying him might be their way of writing him out for a few weeks to recover. I'd say its Taker V Batista now. Worst TLC match ever

The one area in which it did shine is putting over some talent. Great to see Sheamus' push continuing.

I expected both World titles to be dropped tbh. Taker tombstoned Cena last week and I was hoping they continued it at SS. Boo-urns.

Agreed. With Royal Rumble being the next PPV, having Batista win the title at TLC, then be the heel in the SD Main event at Wrestlemania could be pretty good. Batista missed last years Wrestlemania and didn't main event the year before, so putting him in the main event could freshen it up a bit.

TNA have mostly always had good PPVs, but they shoot themselves in the foot with terrible TV.

It was a good show but nothing great. Mysterio/Batista was really disappointing but I am looking forward to a Batista/'Taker TLC match;). Both Elimination matches were rushed with eliminations occuring far too quickly and easily and that hurt all those matches for me. Great to see Kofi given the major win and I hope they follow it up on Raw. Neither Triple Threat came even close to the Styles/Daniels/Joe match last week. Too much two in, one out and I hate that, it's way to formulaic. Also, Matt Striker annoyed the hell out of me last night. He could never just call the action could he, he's always shoving in his little nicknames and smart comments. It really got on my nerves.

def liked how they put Kofi over, having him eliminate recent HW champs CMPunk and Orton in very quick succession but I was one of the only people who predicted that in the prediction thread, Why? well cos everyone knows that Kofi is not on Randys level so i dont expect Kofi to get the win when they meet one on one so this was his moment and what will help build to that one on one match, most likely at TLC. However i dont think it matters too much that he will most likely lose that match as this feud and how it has gone so far is more than Kofi could have expected and he has already been elevated a hell of a lot from where he was.

nice to see Sheamus and McIntyre continue to be pushed also.

if it is Taker vs Batista at TLC people should remember considering there is going to be more than one TLC it might not actually be such a bad thing to have two such people in such a match as to keep interest the TLC matches will need to be different. I thought it was decent enough,the elimination matches were solid enough even though I thought the team Orton vs team Kofi went on about 5 minutes too long.

Wasn't expecting much out Y2J v Taker v Show or ****ista vs Rey so wasn't too dissapointed with them either.

Main event with HHH vs Cena vs HBK was great for a match that had little or no backstory but I was dissapointed but not surprised that superman Cena retained the title.Reckon another HBK vs HHH feud is on the horizon unfortunately

The highlights for me were the continued strong push for Kofi who is pretty much guaranteed to win MITB at mania and seeing Sheamus and Drew Galloway being made to look really strong and get promo time on live PPV,hats off to WWE,at least they're trying with these two.

EDIT:Oh and Matt Stryker on commentary was awesome and he put Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler to shame,Stryker should call Raw solo,it'd be far better then with those two jokes of announcers!

Personally i think it was a decent ppv, but for a survivor series event i dont really think thats good enough... at the end of the day its one of the big 4 of the year, and some of the matches and finishes were lackluster, but on the flipside they put over people big time on this ppv, by Sheamus pinning Morrison and Kofi beating Punk and Orton,which is awesome.. but that Rey/Batista match was dreadful, the finish was ridiculous, how was Rey supposed to be ko'd after 2 powerbombs? really?? and the Cena/Michaels/HHH match was very good, but im just sick of Cena's predictable matches, he takes a beating for the whole thing and then wins-wow...

Seeing Batista break a Ladder in half trying to Spear Taker would be pretty cool, or just laying someone out with the chaor. That match would provide something differant from normal TLC matches. Taker has had some very good ladder mathes before.


Some Day I can See Miz with his own faction. Maybe as the mouth piece for Sheamus and Drew. That would give him a great shot at being a tremendous heel WHC or WWE champion.

I completely agree with this sentiment, and more to the point, think it's essential that at TLC, the ladder matches all make use of the gimmick, but do so in a different way from each other.
My big reservation would be, that regardless of high spots and what manner they would a work a match- it's too dangerous an environment for a guy in the shape Taker's in.

I thought Survivor Series was fine, but not memorable. I really enjoyed the Main Event, which featured some great storytelling but would have been a million times more effective if Cena/HHH wasn't so old. Kingston stood out though, and was booked to perfection in his elimination match.

except its big 4 in name only, last year nwo outdrew it, anyway survivor series has always been a lackluster ppv and for me one that should have been dumped years ago, the main talking points over the years were not the matches (screwjob, takers debut, gobbledygooker), last year had probably the worst main-event match on ppv in 20 years (koslov and HHH), you could count the number of great survivor series matches on one hand over 23 years of SS and still have 4 fingers left

McIntyre looked really impressive aswell

i was expecting Team Orton to go over but i suppose Kofi's team won so they can keep the fued going.

i've just finished watching the PPV, and i must say i did enjoy it. it wasn't good enough for a 'big 4' PPV, but it was fine.

Kofi's push is being done excellently. the match was executed to near enough perfection. i look forward to seeing it continue, and look forward to seeing how this particular story plays out.

but the PPV's validity lay around one man. Shawn Michaels.

his ability to tell a story never ceases to leave me hanging on every moment. from the moment he hit that first Sweet Chin Music i was hooked. the story wasn't complicated, and it wasn't convoluted, but it left me hooked. if there's anything the veterans should concentrate on teaching the younger ones, it's the ability to make the fan emotionally involved.

everytime he did anything, it meant something.

all this while HHH and Cena went through the motions. maybe that's because i've seen them so often i don't know, but for HBK showed everyone up.

again.

the man is a legend. and his rescuing, and making of last night is yet further testament to his greatness.

the right man won though. Cena needs to hold on to the title for a while.

Hahaa yeah you've got a point there- but in fairness NWO last year had Cena using his Rumble win to earn a match with Orton, which is usually a Wrestlemania main event, plus 2 elimination chambers so i dont think thats a apt comparison since that years Survivor Series had a terrible card.. but still only had 10,000 less buys, so there obviously is prestige that comes with Survivor Series

WWE Survivor Series 2009 Review
22nd November, 2009
from Washington D.C. (home state of Batista)


Bit of a different style of review this time. Lemme know if you think it's better or worse! Starts with a match-by-match review, and concludes with a breakdown on how I felt about the PPV.





This has been a very odd build-up. The main event (Cena/DX) has had a comedy build, but within the last two months, we've seen Kofi Kingston get a serious face push, and is heading into the biggest match of his career (his boring US title run or tag title run with Punk did nothing for him). There has been a shift in focus recently, as Swagger, Bourne and Ziggler's pushes have been severely deflated in favour of the Scot McIntyre and Irish Sheamus have been both given monster pushes.


Rey Mysterio is working tonight with a torn ACL with a view to surgery soon, Big Show's knees (and back) are reportedly in very bad shape, not to mention The Undertaker's health is in a steep decline (hence his matches have been quite short in this title run). Anyway, let's do it to 'em!


* Traditional Survivor Series Match: TEAM MORRISON vs TEAM MIZ
John Morrison, Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne, Shelton Benjamin and Finlay vs. The Miz, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger




The curtain-jerker was also the best Series match of the night. Since this is 2009 and not 1989, eliminations are all done by pinfall, without any face-saving DQs or count-outs. McIntyre and Sheamus both elimated two each (including a swift pump-kick by Sheamus into fellow Irishman Finlay, for a quick, decisive fall) and Team Captain The Miz eliminating perennial mid-carder, Shelton Benjamin. The finish came as Christian was eliminated, and it was 3 on 1 (Miz/McIntyre/Sheamus vs Morrison). Sheamus countered an arial assualt with a kick (to the knee/crotch) and finished Morrison off with a running Razor's Edge. Huge push for Sheamus!





Verdict : Enjoyable, solid, enteraining opening match. Highlights were the pushes the two Celtic lads got.


* Rey Mysterio vs. Batista




Batista and Rey had an enjoyable back and forth, until Batista just steam-rolled Rey. Batista continued his assault (without ever going for a pin), Brock-Lesnar style (who had a similar match in his debut PPV match against the Hardyz in 2002). Unfortunately for the WWE, either the WWE fans haven't bought it yet, or because it's in Washington D.C., Batista received unfaltering praise for his destruction of Rey Mysterio. The crowd chanted "one more time" as Batista delivered a third powerbomb and the match was stopped.





Verdict : A meh match, with great booking. Batista looked like a cold monster. Unfortunately the fans took a different view...which is always fun to see!


* Traditional Survivor Series Match: TEAM KOFI vs TEAM ORTON
Kofi Kingston, Mark Henry, MVP, R-Truth and Christian vs. Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, William Regal and CM Punk




Backstage, Christian teased about being the only non-black on his team. Unfortunately since there are no DQs or count-out finishes these days in WWE, Henry, MVP, R-Truth, Cody, Regal and especially Ted Dibiase ALL looked weak, getting pinned quickly and forgotten about. But you just gotta take it on the chin on this PPV. The finish was Christian was eliminated, leaving Kofi to fend against both Punk and Orton. The match slowed as both Kofi and Punk looked gassed... Kofi managed to counter a roll-up with his own and pinned Punk, and struck Orton with "Trouble in Paradise" (wow...just awful name) for the win!





Verdict : The match started and ended well, with a lull in the middle. So many midcarders buried so quickly wasn't nice to see. I would've liked a double-count out or two. So an above average match, and a promising finish.


* World Title Match: The Undertaker © vs. Chris Jericho vs. The Big Show




Undertaker is not in good shape. Big Show hobbles around the ring, but still does all of his spots. It's just awful to see! Big Show should be at home nursing his badly injured knee - he's barely mobile. Jericho and Taker have some good exchanges but the match never gets out of 2nd gear...The finish came when Big Show clocked Jericho with his punch (which has been pushed really well), and Taker counters Big Show's chokeslam with a GogoPlata. Big Show lasted longer than anyone else in WWE in the hold, looked good.





Verdict : Poor match. Big Show needs to rehab off-screen and Taker needs to wrestle sparingly. Realistically he should drop the belt, in favour of Chris Jericho.


* Traditional Survivor Series Match: TEAM MICKIE vs TEAM MCCOOL
Mickie James, Eve Torres, Kelly Kelly, Melina, and Gail Kim vs. Michelle McCool, Jillian Hall, Beth Phoenix, Layla and Alicia Fox.




What to do with the worst wrestlers on WWE's roster? The most sensible thing (besides not booking them!) - give them half the time the men get! Beth Phoenix did a lot of the clearing out, but the match went 11 minutes total. For some reason, Melina got the pin on Michelle McCool, who only recently (viciously) called Mickie a fat pig (thanks, Vince >:( ).





Verdict : Poor match, but the best you can do with these women...so an average women's match.


* WWE Title Match: John Cena © vs. HBK vs. HHH




Match interest was (super-)kicked into high gear when straight away, HBK nailed Triple H with Sweet Chin Music! The crowd popped huge as Cena looked in amazement. What followed was a pretty-much 1-on-1 match, where either Tripper or HBK take a rest from wrestling Cena. Despite how that might sound, the match was interesting and entertaining About ten minutes into it, Tripper got his own back on HBK by spinebuster-ing him onto the announce table.

There was a nice spot where HBK superkicked Triple H onto a prone Cena, which only got a 2-count. There were a few choreographed spots which were nice to see, but in the end, HBK superkicked Tripper again but walked into an F-U, and Cena retained by pinning Triple H. So the seeds are set for a DX meltdown, which should be a big highlight, and can definitely be stretched until WrestleMania.



Verdict : Entertaining match, but not a patch on Turning Point's main event. But still, better than expected. Disappointing that this was basically a 1-on-1 match with Cena, with Tripper and HBK taking long breaks in-between until close to the end.


So in Recap :


Bad Things about the PPV :
- Cole & King again, phoning in their performances. WWE/Batista tried to force the "Rey Mysterio was embarrassed" but they ganged up on Striker's mentioning instead.
- Calling McIntyre a serpent. So we have a rattlesnake, a viper and a serpent. Steve mentioned they should call Punk a python!
- There is no such thing as plural 'sole survivors'. Either there's a sole survivor or there's survivors!!
- Lots of i-Bombs dropped (how ironic!)
- Rey doing the Eddie 'shimmy' and doing the frog splash. **** you, Rey!
- The triple threat matches were both about if the teams would turn on each other/break up, not about the belt. (thanks Steve)
- Jerishow/Taker was a poor match.
- Big Show looked terrible hobbling around the ring. His knee looked in really bad shape - he shouldn't have been wrestling. Instead he really took lots of breathers and phoned it in

OK Things About the PPV :
- Rey vs Batty was OK.
- Kofi vs Orton was overall OK, as it started and ended well, but dragged in the middle.
- Women's match was gick, but they powered through it, so it's the best they really could've done. Having Melina win instead of Mickie was a poor choice IMO

Good things about the PPV :
- Matt Striker on PPV commentary. Only member of the team that gave a **** about his performance, adding colour and intrigue to the matches. He came up with lots of points of information about holds etc. He used a plethora of words that Cole & King have never used. In short, he's quite a good commentator and also cared about the quality of his work, unlike the other two slugs.
- Hilarious to see Michael Cole reading from his crib-notes when Michaels was on the announcer's table.
- Miz vs Morrisson match was good. Seamus, McIntyre were put over pretty well. Huge deal for Seamus getting the final pin against the team captain.
- Seamus and Finlay standing off - marked out to that one!
- Since it was in Washington DC, Batista was cheered despite destroying Rey. The crowd chanting "one more time" with reference to another powerbomb. It was pretty sweet, actually.
- The finish of Batista's match - great booking.
- Great to see Kofi getting the win.
- How cute (cue whale noise) it was to see some opposing wrestlers colour-coordinated (The Miz and Matt Hardy were both wearing mainly purple, with a black/gray design with a white border, Y2J and the Undertaker both wearing mainly black with a orange-trimmed logo)
- Someone had a sign "Where's Carlito?" which was hilarious.
Tripper vs Cena vs HBK :
- Someone threw back Tripper's glowstick at him! (1st time ever)
- Cena getting more than his usual share of abuse
- Sweet Chin Music at the start! WOW!
- The match itself was really enjoyable, except that apart from a couple of moments, it was one-on-one (i.e. traditional triple threat booking)


Overall :
I quite enjoyed the PPV, although there wasn't any stand-out matches unlike in Turning Point. But it was a really solid PPV. It was kind of a letdown that the survivor series matches didn't have a bit more storyline, they just kinda happened. JeriShow/Taker was quite poor; it was the sub-main event. The shining points were the opener and closers of the PPV - Seamus and McIntyre looked great, and Cena/Tripper/Shawn proved that a tired match on paper can still produce an interesting, entertaining match. Overall, thumbs up!
