Do you have open drive on you policy?
If not ring the insurance and get her added as a name driver. It will probably cost very little if anything at all.
Although it's Sunday so there may not be anyone on the phones :(

Yes the car is fully comp in your name. But not anyone elses so you need open drive if you want a named person to drive the car. Open drive often has some clauses as well, such as age.
Some insurance companies do include open drive as standard if you go fully comp but others don't.

Check your policy documents, it should say on that if you have open drive.

Your policy won't cover anyone else if you don't have open drive

Sometimes insurance companies automatically renew the insurance if they haven't heard from the policy holder.
    Depends on who its with???
How does she pay it,cash up front or by Direct Debit?

unless she is named on your policy she is not covered, they have a thing about spouses and open drive also from what i remember..

You say she forgot to renew? Did she cancel her policy with her insurer?

With my policy (fbd) i was a week late paying them but they kept me insured, i cannot however say that this is standard or that you should rely on that possibility.

Don't take any chances, not worth it!

she usually pays over the phone but theres no ans in their offices. Im thinking that better her drive my car thats insured than her own thats not? its only a 40min all round trip... and i know that some people will say it takes only a second for an accident to happen...

Who is it insured with, when they send out the policy renewal the usually give a date as to when the new premium has to be paid by?
i would imagine she might be still insured with her own company if you read her renewal documents.

Is there Taxi's or Hackneys in operation in your end of the country?

+1 on not taking chances. Unless you find your own policy documents for clarity, the answer to the following questions might be helpful!

Couldn't you go instead? Or would a bus be available for the airport run?

On the off chance you are with quinn direct, you could add your wife to your policy online

Yeah, from what you told us it sounds like your wife probably isn't covered to drive the car.

oh and just so you know..
if your wife is caught driving your car and it turns out she's not insured to drive it..you can be put off the road too as you own the car and gave her permission to drive it.
