Help - stolen/lost iPhone

    Hi every1, just lost my iphone last night and unsure what to do. I'm not eligible for an upgrade yet so i think i'll just buy a new one, can i cancel that other bill? i know they can give me another sim, but if i cancel the other one can i keep the number? never used sim backup (doh!) and i have no insurance (double doh!)

    any help really appreciated

    When I was buying mine, the guy in O2 was telling me that if you lose it, the cheapest you can get another one for is €420 (I assume that's for the prepay and you just switch the sims over). Not sure if he's right there, but i'd be fairly certain that you're not allowed just cancel the old contract and start a new one, you'll have to cover whatever is left on the old bill i'd think.

    thanks, i went to carphone warehouse, its 420euro for another one, i'm due an upgrade in january so i'll have to wait until then. got the phone added to blak lst so it won't work, got free sim, live and learn!

    I brought my kids to the Ailwee caves today to visit Santa and when I went to turn off my iphone I noticed that it was missing.After a thorough search of the car I realised that it must have been taken out of my pocket at some stage so i reported it to the information desk.They were extremely helpful and had it announced over the PA system and then they looked after the kids for me and gave me an office where I phoned 02 to block the number.
    After 15 minutes on hold I spoke to a rep who was very nice and they blocked the number,black listed it which i didn't know about and stopped the internet connection which I would have forgotten about.
    She explained that the phone is now useless and even the contact list,the the calender and the notes section can't be accessed.Even if another sim card is put in the phone won't work She said that if the phone is returned to me (handed in somewhere) I can be re connected and I can re install everything .
    While it is a bummer loosing my phone, I bought it the day they came out so I am entitled to an upgrade.I will wait a day or two then get the new iphone 3Gs.
    Both the staff at the Ailwee caves and the folks at 02 were very helpfull and I just wanted to point this out..
