HID High Beams

    Hi all,

I have HID low beams fitted to my car.

I'm after getting a high beam HID kit but I've been told that single HID bulbs aren't good for high beams as they take a second or two to heat up, meaning you can't flash, and there's a slight delay when you flick on the high beams.

Does anyone have any experience of using HID's as high beams?

Some cars with HID high beams have a shutter that covers the lens when you dim so the light actually stays on constantly.

    +1

Most Bi-Xenon systems from the OEM manufacturers have the HID bulb as a dual filament and the bulb is always on so when you turn on the full beam a little metal cover moves out of the way to allow more light out.

if your happy with you HID set up i would leave the high beams alone and stick with the halogen bulbs or maybe just upgrade your high beam bulb to a xenon "Type" bulb.
