9-8 to Scotland, Aussies score a last second try and miss the conversion. Really puts our shocking performances last week in perspective.

So technically Scotland are better then us at the moment. Woooo.....

Joking aside fair play to them they'v had a rough time with Hadden over the years great to see Robinson gave them a bit of hope.

Yep. Great last five mins with the Aussies camped on the Scottish line. Shocking attempt from Giteau on the conversion, nowhere near. He carried on his poor kicking form from last week. Good win for the Scots but it doesn't say much for us.

I'd be fairly certain the weather had a massive role to play.

Giteau missed a shed load of easy kicks and Australia butchered a load of chances. They'll be kicking themselves.

Fair play to the Scots though. A fine win for them.

Weather not that much of a factor in this game. Scotland defence was fantastic for the most part, but going forward they only had a handful of trips into the Australian 22 and came out with points nearly every time. Australia passed up two gilt edged chances for tries. The first through bad body positioning from Moore. The second a 3 on 2 overlap where it was almost impossible not to score and they managed to produce a forward pass for the try to be ruled out. MOTM for Scotland was Giteau with 2 missed penalties, a missed drop goal and the missed conversion.

I have missed the last two big victories for Scotland :( When they beat England in 2008 I went to Dublin to watch Ireland lose to Wales instead. Today I did not go because I was looking at potential wedding venues

Didn't see today's Scotland/Australia match but can't understand your point- in what way was Ireland's perfomance last week shocking? They never stopped playing, never gave up and got a deserved draw at the end which was a fair reflection on the game in general.

Annoyed that this clashed with Ireland.

That's a great win for the Scots and Andy Robinson.

That was embarrassing. A skipped pass when the simple one would have sent him over.

Any other option than the skipped pass and they would have scored. As for the first chance for Moore, I don't know why he did not go low like Kearney did in the Ireland game, going high allowed the tacklers to get in.

Fair reflection but Ireland should be comfortably beating this Australian team at home. We'll get minced by SA if we put in a similar performance.

How many kicks did Giteau miss?

It's not a great Aussie team but they have been playing together through the Tri-Nations whereas Ireland were together for the first time since the Six Nations and a bit rusty. I think the fact that Ireland had the staying power to come back speaks volumes about the character of the team and we all know that they have buckets of talent so I think we have little to fear from the Boks. They have now had three defeats in a row so their 'World Champion' status has lost something of its credibility but that's not to say it will be easy but I reckon BOD and the lads are the match for them and have been saying the same since the middle of the Lions tour. Bring 'em on! :)

Meh, there were a lot of other factors at play last week mainly rustiness. If we played Oz this week we'd beat them.

Well done Scotland. Decided to watch this game live rather than Ireland vs Fiji which I recorded and do not regret my decision. While Aussies at times were poor in their decision making to say the least, Scotland's defence was outstanding and they tackled to a man for full 80 minutes. Could yet be an interesting 6 nations. England will certainly not fancy going to Murrayfield.

Not if Giteau is the one trying to do it !

Australia really should of won the game today, they had all the possession, all the territory and all the chances(in terms of kicks and ball in hand). However well done to the Scots, they defended resolutely throughout and every man fought his heart out for them.

Its nice to see Scotland getting a bit of a confidence boost before the start of the 6 Nations campaign, lets hope it won't simply be a wooden spoon contest as far as they are concerned this year!

The Scots need to pull the finger out this year, especially since players like Southwell can only make the "A" side.

The Evans brothers can also come back into the team. They have some nice depth in that backline.

  • Scotland defended like trojans as they kept out a determined Aussie outfit

On another day the Aussies would have put 30 or 40 points on Scotland, read yesterday that Aus won the ball 50+ times in the Scottish 22 and Scotland won it 9 times in the Aus 22. That shows that the scottish defence was fantastic but also how unbelievable poor the Aus decision making was.
I fear for Wales next week as if this Aus team click they will score a hatful of points. As against both Ire and Scot they have butchered so many try scoring chances and simple ones at that, which would have won them their games comfortably
