We had Sky HD installed a few weeks now. Hd+ in one room and standard sky in the kitchen. The kitchen working fine but the HD box is saying No Signal being received. I looked in the services menu and the signal test page is all blank. Any Ideas?
    Thanks,
    Brian.

PS I rebooted the box twice, still no Joy

have you checked the connections on the back of the box? (f connectors)

you could try the box from the kitchen in your living room. and the hd box in the kitchen.

I was afraid to switch them because the HD box has two cables. Is it ok to just connect 1?

yes, as a test that will be fine......
But probably just by trying the 'old' box on 1 of the feeds to the HD box will give the answer. Ie does it work or not? if it works then the problem is either will the cable or the LNB. if it doesn't then it is faulty!!

Just to be clear, did you fully power off at the socket *all* your sky boxes at the same time, so no power whatsoever was getting to the LNB. Then wait a few minutes and power back on again and see. If you have already done this, I don't have any further suggestions.

Does the HD box have the new epg on it????

If so does it tell you whats on when using the tv guide etc...but wont show you the picture, if so then there is a problem with the second feed going into rf2.

There is a temporary fix available until you can get the second cable working.

If this is the case, then you can get the picture to work whilst using the one working cable by pressing the following.

    Press services
    Press 0,0,1 select.

Select the Setup menu...and move down to the single feed...and turn to on...the box will reboot and will work again, however with this it will only allow you record whilst watching the channel you are watching.

No when he told me to power off the LNB, the kitchen box was still on. So are you saying turn off the kitchen box and try again?

I'm saying turn off all the boxes at the same time, leave them off for a few minutes and then power up and see how it goes.

Yep. It starts searching for listings but then goes back to no signal!

Is it not strange that the kitchen box is still on?

I had the same problem after moving my sky box while painting the sitting room. It was an easy fix for me . I un-plugged the Sky box, I un-screwed the two connector at the back, I wiped the copper wire with cotton wool dipped in nail varnise remover (my wifes not mine!!). I re-attached the f-connectors and it worked.

One other thing only one connection is needed to view TV, Sat connection 1 is the main connection required to view TV the Sat connetion 2 is used for the sky plus function it allows you to record when viewing another channel. You can check using the sky remote the signal of both connections , it's under the service menu on the sky remote see link :- http://www.stevelarkins.freeuk.com/sky_tv_guide.htm#Checking_Sky_Signal_Quality.

If you don't have a signal on the first/main connection you'll get the no signal error , if there is a signal on the second connection just swith the connections. After switching check again .

Post how you get on .

Thanks everyone your help and suggestions. I tried the nail varnish trick and a the rest of the suggestions and ideas posted here, but no Joy. I have an old sky box, found it after a hour of rooting under the stairs. Plugged in in and its working. Sounds like the HD Box is bunched.

I had a similar problem last week. Is there an error code on screen. This will be on the top right of the text infromation bopx that tells you there is not signal. Mine was error 29, turned out 2 cables in the attic were broken, the one cable comming straight from the dish allowed me to use a digibox, which happened to fail the next day. You might have a cable loose at the LNB.
