hi there, i was buying kids bikes for christmas at my local bike shop, and the guy there was offering me a claud butler ravana atx for €250, barely used. I know nothing about the brand, and hadn't been thinking of getting a bike for myself. The more i think about it, the more i think i should - it won't be used for great distances, more for for going on rides with the kids, or cycling to the shops etc. If I was to get a bike, i'd want one that would last, have good components, be relatively light, and be ok for cycling in forest pathways as well as road. a very hilly road it must be said.

so is the claud butler brand good, and is this model good value at 250 second hand, fully serviced?

or do you have alternative suggestions, new or secondhand, budget upto 250, 300 at a stretch if i thought i was getting great value.

    thanks in advance
