Devils Backbone is great, really good.

Cronos is very good - very original take on the vampire thing, good plotline, Ron Perlman has a great part, but a smaller budget.

Got these in a box set with Pans Labyrinth, not knowing too much about them, one of the best buys I've made.

Pretty much sums up my feelings on both movies. I got the box-set after seeing Pan's Labyrinth and its brilliant. Devil's Backbone is a really good ghost story, honestly I was a bit surprised at the quality of it.

Something I forgot to say - The subtitles on Devils Backbone are a bit off. As in sometimes they don't appear until the character has been talking for a second or two, sometimes they're a second or two early, and sometimes they're at the right time. It's surprisingly annoying. Can't remember how long it's like that for, but I remember it being annoying for the first thirty minutes or so.

Interesting in that it's the first DVD I've had that has a subtitles issue like that.

fitz0 is it the same on your copy?

Never noticed that and i have that boxset.

I remember seeing devils backbone in the IFC, loved it not the movie i expected from the poster!! :D
Didn't read a review or nothing just headed along with a few friends.

That boxset is worth the purchase if you enjoy Del toros movies

Devils backbone is a great companion to Pans labyrnth.

Cronos is a strange movie, but an interesting one. Not what you'd expect from a "vampire" movie.

Can't recall that problem, but I'll rewatch and see if I missed it the first time around.

The Devil's Backbone is very creepy and an excellent movie.

    Cronos is pretty good too.

Come to think of it I haven't seen either of these since I originally saw them, time to schedule a re-watch. :D
