    Hey,

I need to pick myself up some astro runners and was wondering does anybody have any advice on what brand are best and where to get them? Its one of those sand based pitches (cant wear mouldies) so need a decent comfy cheap pair.

Anybody get any recommendations. Im in dublin by the way!

Played on astros for years and normal runners would suffice imo.

Feel free to ask over on the Boards Team forum, the lads there might have some advice for you.

I discourage my players from wearing just normal runners, there isn't enough grip.

I always were astros, coz they're dead comfortable. But there's one pitch we play on that's pretty old, almost like playing on carpet. One of the lads always wears runners, swears by it.
I know this lad is playing on sand-based, but guess it depends on the surface.

If grip is really a factor (which it probably is on a sandy pitch), the best i've come across are predators. I've found running in them just fantastic, can turn quickly in them on the worst surfaces. I do however find the nike's nicer for shooting and long range passing. Ideally the mercurial steam's or else a little lower down the zoom's.
