    Was there one this year?

I see Tom Tailor has signs up saying 'Shopping Spree', but didn't hear anything else about it.

I heard nothing about one this year, it used to be in October, it ran since the 70's I think in response to the an annual consumer survey that used to name Sligo as Ireland's most expensive town or city. Our relations in Dublin and down the country were always deeply gratified by this survey for some reason.

I used to like Supermarket sweep:rolleyes:
But seriously I wonder what happened to the spree.
The shops are trying to get people to shop locally but from what I can see they aren't doing much to encourage us.
