Hidden 3.10 Feature: Report Playstation 3 Crashes

There’s always a hidden feature in a firmware update. It’s almost as if Sony turn a simple update into a game; how many secret changes can you find?
Well, we have found a brand new, unannounced feature in Firmware 3.10, and we’ve even got a picture of it.
If your Playstation 3 crashes, and you turn it off without pressing the PS button and selecting ‘Turn off system’, next time you boot up you can send an error report to Sony. Hopefully, all this information can help Sony find problems with the PS3 to patch up.

Well, If Microsoft's error reporting is anything to go by, I'd imagine this will be a huge success.

When I see that error reporting feature pop up in windows I always imagine a PC humming away in the basement of MS HQ, with cobwebs all around it, with a big red stapler perched beside it, set to receive and instantly delete those error messages.

My PS3 is doing something weid since the update.

When I quit a game the console resets itself (complete with beep) rather than just gently going back to the XMB.

    No problems here.

They may have updated the website since but the most up to date version reported was 3.01 and you could only download the update via the PS3 itself which took an age.

Apparently there is LOADS of bugs with the new update, it has been reported on many communitys.

I'm not going to update my console yet but annoying the way I can't play MW2 online without it :(

I am just updating to it now! Painfully slow!! I've played online on it every day this week and now was the first time I was asked to update? I was playing it this morning grand. I was pretty much forced to update:mad:
A system update is required for online play. Press X to continue!
