Wimax Broadband is here and there prices are really good

    25 Euro for broadband

5 Euro for a mobile broadband dongle

All of our packages include a free digital phone line with NO line rental

Heres the thing the prices havent dropped with the other companys at all

Why Not ? Why is this

Nope because WiMax has not yet made any impact on the market in any decent way and is only available in very selected areas, until things change prices will not change.

Its not yet seen is competition in the market

Where is the WiMax site that Imagine had gone to. When the press release came out their front page was WiMax everything, now I can't find any info on WiMax at all on the page?

A few reasons may be :-

    • Wimax only live in very very limited areas
    • No one knows when their area will go live
    • 7Mbs does not equal superfast broadband
    • Mobile broadband that is only available in a few areas defeats the purpose
    • There is no feedback on service anywhere on the web yet (which is very strange)
    • Still untested technology in Ireland
    • Advertising in areas that you are not live in
    • The way potential customers were treated at the launch, kept in the dark no explainations
    • Multiple missed deadlines by the company for what they said was their 'pricing'
These are just a few reasons that other companies would not feel threatened yet and enter a price war, even though O2 have announced a pay as you go mobile broadband, which you can try for 72 hours before buying a modem etc. Plus if you live in a UPC area better speeds etc.
I am sure when we start getting feedback from customers of Imagine we will have a better idea but they seem to be thin on the ground or non existant at the moment.
