Foot injury and Weight Watchers?

Been going to the Weight Watchers for 8 weeks. On Tuesday however I got a slight pain in my right foot. It wasn't too bad so I continued on exercising. Unfortunately yesterday the pain got really bad and I had to go to A&E. They say I have a stress fracture in it :( Really gutted as I was on a roll.

Does anybody know what the situation with Weight Watchers is? I'm supposed to rest so won't be able to make it to my meeting. Will I have to pay for the missed meetings later on? Seems a little unfair :(

Is there any exercise I can do? I was thinking of push ups but even that requires some weight on your foot...

Rest your foot as much as possible. Stress fractures heal quicker than others and you'll still be able to work a little, just try not to. Make sure you are getting enough calcium, magnesium and vitamin D to help speed recovery.

I'd imagine WW will accept a doctor's note as a reason not to pay for missed meetings.

You should still be able to cycle, that doesn't involve weight on your foot. Or swim.

Pushups do not require weight on the foot, if you had a cushion or something you could rest your shins on the cushion and do pushups. Or you can do them on your knees which makes them easier. Lots of upper body exercises with weights you could do. But I would ask your doctor for advice as obviously we have no idea of the severity.

If cycling stick to low gears "spinning", many people prefer higher gears and there can be quite a bit of force involved. I cycled to work with a sore foot and just used the stronger foot a lot more, in fact once I broke the pedal off my bike and cycled home with just using one foot!

When I had torn knee ligaments, and was supposed to be on crutches, I used my bike instead. Lowered the saddle, removed the pedal on my good side, rested the foot of the bad leg on the other pedal and scootered myself around. Far easier than crutches, and once I was a bit better, I was able to cycle long before I could walk.

You get 2 holiday weeks every 6 months in WW, so when you go back, the clerk will ask if you want to use one or pay for a missed week.
