Has anyone succeeded in not paying the toll fine?

By this I mean just say the toll amount a few days late and not the fine. You have cleared the debt you incurred so can they still come after you for the fine?

they tried to charge me 6 (3 + 3 fine) for an unpaid toll.
I paid it on the day but got reg wrong. It was all cleared, no fine to pay
