    Hi All

Living in the area above and have been told we have rats underneath our decking by a neighbour they are coming in from his garden into ours underneath our deck.

    Any solutions?

Anyone suffered/suffereing from something similar to recommend someone?

    Cheers in advance!

    Ray

Rats love decking! It keeps out cold wind, leaves blow under that creates nice bedding for them and during the summer they have a great food supply from bits of food falling off barbecues and plates.

When decking is installed you should dig in a perimeter fence of 18-gauge mesh wire and it should be at least 1.5m deep in the soil. It can never be 100 per cent effective but it reduces the problem

Other than that, try getting a cat, rat traps, poison, etc.

Remember you're never more than 10ft from a rat!

Jack Russell terriers do a great job as well.
