OK, so i watched Twilight months ago, couldn't understand for the life of me the appeal/hype. Sky movies showing it now....watched it three times.

Leaving aside the story/acting...what about Hardwicke as a director?, the cinematography for the film?

Thing is, i found some of the dolly shots and cinematography very amatuerish, she tried to add style on occasion, like the shots in the forrest where Bella confronts Edward, then the love scene lying on the forest floor.

I mean, i kinda see what she was going for, but the shots look very jerky and badly thought out, her editing in such scenes as well, she'll have a tracking shot and cut to a closeup. It just just very choppy.

Like she trying to add style but dosen't have a clue how to pull it off right, who was the cinematographer?

What do you think of Hardwice and points above?

Twilight fans do not care for directing. They care for attractive, young and angst-ridden vampires and cheese-tastic stories. Anything else is a mere inconvenience, such as good special effects (always get a good laugh at the CGI wolf in those New Moon trailers) and good direction. Make everything slightly greyish (plus: SPARKLES!), and hey! The film more or less makes itself.
Disclaimer: Yes, I do not approve of Twilight

Richard, I don't know a whole lot about cinematography, it looked alright to me..however it was the most incredibly slow moving boring load of sh*te I've seen in ages. If I was a teeniebopper with a huge crush on young Pattinson (which is beyond imagining 'cos he has the quarest looking face I've seen outside of Star Trek) I would probably happily sit and drool over the tv even though there was nothing of any interest happening in it. They could've cut a half an hour at least off the movie length. Kristen Stewart as Bella was the most miserable looking individual in the world. I'll not be in a hurry to see the sequel.

Quite honestly, I wouldn't be too hard on her, give Lords of Dogtown a look.

Not a bad little film actually - not as good as the documentary, but enjoyable enough (probably bolstered by Heath Ledger's fantastic performance).

Seems the new one is directed by Chris Weitz, the man who raped directed the Golden Compass. (we need a raised eyebrow emoticon)
