Im back on the low-carb wagon after falling off for a few months (have regained 7lbs). Im determined to not allow Christmas encourage me to eat all around me. I enjoy eating low carb and know it works effectively. Just wondering is it possible to have the odd treat while eating this way. I do allow myself have the occasional piecee of dark chocolate, but just wondering about other ideas....?

    Am I asking the impossible?
    Thanks! :)

Impossible? Not at all. But you might have to be a bit creative!

At the moment I'm loving Lidl Greek yoghurt. It's only 2.6g carbs ber 100g and really luxurious and thick. I normally prefer it on it's own, but mixed 50/50 with creme fraiche it's delicious. If I'm after a chocolate fix, I'll mix in some cocoa and a little sweetener. There's also sugar-free mousse for a fruity alternative.

How are you finding IPD? I think it was your recommendation that got me started on it! Trying to shed another half stone by Christmas myself :)

    Hey Dolorous!!!

I kinda loosened my resolve for a while...got complacent and before I knew it was eating pizza again. Feeling disgusted and bloated so back on IPD :) Its great once you are in the zone!

Whats the story with yoghurt...am I okay to eat it? It was a no no on phase 1 IPD so gave it a wide berth for a while...however I miss it!!

How are you getting on with low carbing??

Great so far! The latest half of my food diary is my switch to IPD. Have been doing it since July and have over a stone and a half to go now. Will probably stay on Phase 1 until Christmas and then go to Phase 2 after :)

Re. The Greek yoghurt - This particular Greek yoghurt is very low carb compared to others, so I sort of made an executive decision on it :pac: Obviously you have to watch your portions, but it has never hindered my loss. Same deal with coffee, I never found any real reason that it would slow my loss in any way, so I kept my daily cup. A coffee with cream is one of my favourite treats now!

After my WW experience I decided to turn my back on counting points n cals so havent got into checking the carb count on food in great detail..basically if it wasnt on my list it was a no-no! But thats a great tip - thanks!

I totally quit the caffeine when I started but have recently started back on it. I only have two cups a day so id imagine it wont make much of a difference.

Keep nuts handy over Christmas, makes it much easier to skip the sweets. Last Christmas, I bought a kilo of pistachio nuts and ate the whole lot over Christmas. And I lost a pound that week.

EileenG you are a great one for the low carbing :)! Do you succumb to sweets/desserts?

Occasionally, but usually regret it. I pinched a few of the children's sweets at Halloween, and then felt sick, because they were just so sweet and I felt really crap afterwards.

Mostly I prefer nuts and really dark chocolate and stuff like that.
