Hi,having completed a security guarding skills level 4 fetac course...Im in the process of getting the required documentation together to get my psa licence. But on the form are two different fee's/payments, one being 80e & the other is 130e. Does anyone know which I must pay, having done the course I did? Really appreciate anyones help, thanks in advance

the reason there are 2 different prices are because there are 2 different licences.
130euro is for the basic guard which is for security patrol static guarding and the 80euro is just for door person .ie. nightclub and licenced premises that require door staff

Thank you so much for your reply. So with the fetac level four course (guarding skills) which should I go for, or does it matter, am I entitled to apply for both? Sorry for my stupidity in relation to this matter...Im just slightly confused :) Thanks again

It is actually the other way round - static for a licenced premises is €130, general door staff for non-licenced premises is €80 and if you want both its 190

you are entitled to apply for both which is the option you should take as it opens up a lot more opportunities for you in the future with employment.

Does this mean you just buy the licence and there's no more training etc with this one?

Well ya there is a list of jobs you can do with each particular course/licence. But ya as far as I know you don't have to do any further training...

Some time one think why the PSA has such a slow attitude toward the process of Security Licence. My investigation revealed that there Applicant who have to wait up to 6months for the PSA Licence. Are this people in the PSA Office working at all? The Vetting office too should knows that the applicant need to work, so the vetting should take quick priority to arrive on YES or NO for the applicant to move forward istead of been holding for months, inspite of the high application fees.

Where could one complaint the ill service of this PSA toward Licencing process?
Where is Security workers association, the ISIA seems to deal only with employer sector, where is workers Association?
