I joined a while back and its going well for me. Its the same set up as Curves with machines etc but its 30euro a month and you only have to join for 3 months. I liked the idea of not being tied to it for a year tbh. They weigh and measure you once a month also.

so you'd recommend it then? I'm just looking for somewhere thats easy for me to get to and its on my way home from work....
Can you go as often as you want or are there set number of days a week you can go?

Its either a love it or hate it gym really. There are loads of posts from people giving out about Curves but I always got results from it when I stuck to it. I went down to a size 8 from a 12 a few years ago when I was a member.

It works for me cos its half an hour and you can go as often (or little!) as you like. I find it good for toning but others I know left after a month cos they became bored of the routine. I'd say the best thing to do is the trial...just call them and say you are thinking of joining and they'll set it up for you. The trial will give you a good feel for it. It might not be for you but at least you'll know before you hand over any money!

    Can I resurrect this post?

My membership in Northwood is coming to an end and I'm looking for alternatives.
I am not one for running on the Tmill or cycling, I really enjoyed the classes up in Northwood, but of late they are overcrowded and you've to be there 15 mins prior to secure a place.
I see from the web that Joannes gym has lots of classes as extras and the work out is Curves based so it's 30 mins in and out wham bam thank you maam.

Is anyone in Joannes gym, can you change from work gear to gym gear on site.
    What are the classes like?
    Any craic/atmosphere?

    What is the low down?
