They'll be assessing your means which includes income, savings, investments, second property, and outgoings etc. Questions will look at who is living in your household. They may ask to look at your bank and post office statements for preceeding months. Other questions would depend on the scheme you are applying for - like with One Family Payment - where's the partner - are you in a relationship - do you get maintenance for children etc. If you are claiming unemployment - they may ask about your efforts to get work. Questions are really dependant on the scheme you are claiming.

If you read other postings - you may get a general idea. I would also advise that you have another person who can be present with you.... regardless of whether its in your home or in the DSFA offices!

Are you waiting a year for your claim to be processed or for payment to be backdated! If the claim was awarded and you havent got backpayment - get in touch with the relevant section in writing. If it has not been processed in a year - that's a disgrace!

I work part time, and what I get in a wage is deducted from the JSA balance,

i.e €204 - (my wage) blance of what i get in post office. I haven't really looked for work in last few weeks as i have no qualifications. I'm living with folks and am single, no kids.

Why bring someone, will they come on strong?

Are you sure its with the DSFA - they could be doing it as part of normal control and audit procedures when claiming jobseekers. That would be common.

If its with FAS - they will probably want to discuss options ie training and education and efforts to jobseek.
