Got a fixed penalty fine for 40e just now, for parking on a footpath.

same place my car got keyed in cork. what scum bags, keying my car wasn't enough.

The place I parked all the cars were parked on footpaths, to let other cars pass out etc. don't know why my car was singled out.

also there is no pay and display there, who issued the fine? did a house owner call the cops, seems the only way it could have happened/.

I'd assume it was a passing Garda or warden. Just don't park on the footpath in future.

Sorry to here about the car being keyed, not sorry about the ticket, nothing worst than trying to get a buggy or even bringing small children past cars that are parked blocking footpaths.

In a way be glad they didn't kick your wing mirror off as well, being tempted many times.

All cars in that vicinity were parked in the same manner.

keying my car and dumping paper, tea bags and other assorted $hit on it is unnacounted for.

I don't understand the connection between the vandalism and the ticket? I do agree that all the other cars should have been ticketed too though.

    Either do i..

I emailed the gardai about it, seems that someone took a distaste to my car and called the cops, they issued me with a fine and when they left the person keyed the car and dumped the contents from the kitchen on the window.

Did you report the vandalism? Parking illegally doesn't mean it's ok to damage somebody's car.

How do you know that the person who called the Gardai is also the person who vandalised your car?

Also, how do you know that no one else was issued a FPN??

Usually the gardai give tickets to every car on the street if theyre all parked illegall, happened to me before, but they tried to do me for "parking within 5m of a junction" which was pure b.s. so I got off. I was parked in the loading bay out-of-hours so I was in the clear bet everyone else was on double yellow lines.

Anyway, best thing you can do, retaliate by taking all your household rubbish (minus bills & letters) & dumping them on the porch of the house you parked outside of. Street justice!! ;)
No, I'm just messing, dont do that. Not to be the pot calling the kettle black, but the one kind of illegal parking I cant stand is mounting kerbs, no consideration for parents + kids. I've personally witnessed young mothers having to cross the road to get a buggy around a line of cars, or else just walking in the road.

Anyway, €40 wont break the bank,
