Best for online: 360 or PC?

As the matchmaking options for the PC version have been dumbed down, would I be better off getting this for 360? Is the quality of service (matchmaking over live) better then the current PC option?

What do you mean by dumbed down?
The matchmaking on both is the exact same.
The only dumbing down as you call it is the lack of dedicated servers for pc.
Maybe this is what you mean?

Yeah, dedicated servers and max players limit. I'm wondering if the 360 would have a smoother connection experience then the PC on the same line.

My NAT is open and I still have a horrible time trying to get into a game

As for getting into games with friends, oh lord it can take 15 minutes at times.

    Horrible horrible system

Also DCully, you are a machine at this. My gamertag is HyruleField, when looking at the leader board and my friends list, even though we have been playing about the same length of time you have 100k points more than me. sick

So you're playing on a 360? I get shivers with I think of forwarding ports – bad experiences with Company of Heroes.

Yup I am on a 360 and I would not describe the matchmaking in any way, shape or form as "good"

Cant comment on the PC obviously

We must party up for some games.

I have to say i find it pretty ok, sometimes a party member may get dropped when we move to lobby or from lobby to server.
Apart from that i think its ok.
Having said that i remember COD4 on release time was the same, after a few weeks there was no issues.

Would be good alright. There's a few of us playing a bit more regularly together and trying to be more tactical about Headquarters and Domination.

It takes me about 15 "Find Match" attempts when I am on my own.

I must investigate my broadband a bit more

Make sure UPnP (Automatically forwards ports) is on in your Router, my netgear one also had a NAT restrictive/open setting in the WAN options.

    Xbox360.

The increased lag is negated by the slowness of the controls.

The pc has now had the multi player cracked along with a rake of cheats and nothing decent to pick up on them so its becoming infested with aimbots and wallhacks.

Whoever designed the matchmaking for mw2 (and mw1 for that matter) should have their teeth removed with a rusty screwdriver.

What an absolute piece of crap it is, so disappointed it crept into this release.

PC is fine for a good game. Until dedicated servers are available it won't be played competitively in leagues etc....but it'll do for a mess about on servers

The past few night myself and my clan have had up to 14 of us on a private lobby hosted by one of our members with no issues.

Then when less are on we create a lobby of say 3-6 and then go join a server.

PC with a good connections can host up to 18 ppl pretty well, LAG is rarely an issue....but it is there sometimes, but that can't be helped as its off someones connection
