Hi Guys , I have been away for a while working but got back to ireland today and went to see the steve bunce live tour tonight with my dad in the Red Cow Moran Hotel

I dont think the Event was well advertised as crowd was very small , but Steve Bunce was fantastic answering all questions fired at him and telling his amazng boxing stories about hatton , calzaghe , haye etc

some real eye openers about the back stabbing promoters and bad points of our favourite boxers!

he was such a gentle man and had bundles of energy and was literall flying around the room with his microphone , also on the night were special guests such the 3 hyland brothers and oisin Fagan , who answered questions and talked about their fights

it was worth the 17 euro and the only negative points were lack of people and guests , kate taylor , b dunne and brian peters were all meant to be there but did not show.

also at one stage pascal collins was announced to talk as a guest but he stayed in the bar or left the hotel i think ( he appeared earlier ) ?

anway nobody knows boxing like steve bunce overall rating 8 - 10, everybody in attendance were boxing mad and their were a good few of us girls too !!!

tee - shirts were good value at 10 euro

    Bye Sarah:):)

Pity i didnt know about this. Would have enjoyed that. Why is nothing ever advertised over here? I had read on eastside boxing that buncey was doing a uk tour alright but didnt know he was coming over to us.

I was at the salford show alright. There was less maybe 50 people there and that included the fighters and guests. It wasnt advertised at all but im sure thery would have been in contact with all the clubs in the area that they were going to and got numbers that way. Would be surprised if they didnt do that.
So how many were in the red cow?

No one goes out after dark in salford, you must have been mob handed haha. You ever venture down odsal estate? They breed them tough round those parts. At least you came through ok lol

Haha, yeah came out ok. Dont live there so dont know the arear. The show was in the lower kersal social club. You couldnt have tucked the show away any better! Locals were dead sound and chatty, seem to love the irish too :D The owner and staff there were all very sound.

Met and had a brief chat with Bunce afterwards, met Matt Hatton. Macklin left early so didnt get to meet him. recognisable faces there include:

Matt Hatton, Hattons dad, Matt Macklin, joe murray, steve "the viking" forster sr(beat chris pyatt for the commonwealth and fought winky wright for the world title at 154), Bobby Joe Edwards (first guy to take calzaghe the distance)
I know im forgetting one or two but a good bunch.

Bunce talked about the Klitschkos, dunne vs poonswat (said it was fight of the weekend... this was the tue before it happend) chatted with macklin ahead of his asikainen win, had a quiz with bobby joe edwards and forster vs 2 people from the audience. He had loads of time for the fans afterwards and was chatting bout anything and everything boxing related.

I'd agree with this until it comes to British boxers. When he talks about British boxers all sense reason and logic flies out the window at a cringe-enducing speed....watching the boxing hour I used to just tune off whenever british boxers were discussed.

( I remember him seriously stating that Audley Harrison would KO both Klitschko brothers over a weekend) just one of many gaffes when it comes to local boys.

Certainly poorly advertised thought. didn't hear nor see anything about this.
