    Condensation?

As long as the coolant level is fine I wouldn't worry - as mickdw said, it's just condensation mixed with soot from the inside of the exhaust. Do take the car for a good run if you can, though, as the condensation will eventually rot the exhaust from the inside out.

Its normal.....condensation built up from it being hot when you drove in laast time it was hot.
Its black cos exhausts tend to be....a little dirty.

Just take it for a good long drive and it'll eventually all evaporate/run out, running the engine when the exhaust is still cold will only create more condensation.

i wish i could, the damn thing is out of tax and nct and is not insured, altho i did run it around the basement a good few times lol

Its normal, its a sign the car is running a little rich, (most cars leave off a little water when the choke is on) nothing to worry about, Water is a by-product of combustion. Petrol contains hydrogen, and when burned, some of that hydrogen combines with the oxygen (in the cat) being used to burn it, producing water.

Most of the time, the exhaust is hot enough that the water remains in the form of steam or just exhaust gas, When the exhaust is cold, or the outside air is cold, this water may condense and become visible as water dripping out

prob sounds about right my friend, only thing is, i just hope the guy coming to look at the car doesnt look at the water coming out the back and just laugh at me lol :D

...I don't know what you're complaining about -the Greens will love it.

And to think they spent millions trying to get Fuel Cell cars to work and it's in a garage in Ireland all the time...............:D :D

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

If the buyer notes the water just explain its exactly as others have said. Simply condensation that built up and should evaporate if driven for a few miles.

If the potential owner asks why you haven't then explain the tax situation.

Contrary to the green party mantra, a large percentage of your exhaust fumes is actually just water vapour (can be seen perfectly of a cold morning)

If you keep your engine just ticking over, this vapour will condensate in the cold exhaust and at some point come running out in cupfuls.

Water OP is a POC (Product of Combustion), along woth CO2, CO, etc...

What happens is that you have petrol fuel which has Hydrogen and Carbon content and you have air which has Nitrogen and Oxygen...

Some of the Hydrogen (H) molecules in your exhaust gases will recombine with Oxygen molecules (O2), and obviously what you get is H2O or water...

It's a little more technical than this but this is the basics of what is happening...
