Apologies in advance for a rather banal request, and probaly a post on an incorrect forum:o

My aged aunt has just had Chorus basic package installed. She has been away for a while and had the service disconnected. The problem is that the newly installed service is digital and required a certain proficency with two remotes. As the set top box comes in on the AV input the TV remote has have channel 0 selected and then channel down to sevect AV. Then the Chorus remote is used to select the channels.

Problem is that at the grand old age of 95 having two remotes is very confusing, she gets mixed up and presses a wrong button and voila, no telly:mad:

Does anyone know there any programmable all in one remote available that could have the TV and set top box sequence programmed and saved so that she could get back her beloved Telefis?

Argos used to have programmable remotes that where 4 in 1 from memory - don't know if they still stock them

    Thanks, I'll have a look.
Problem is that it will have lots of buttons. What I need is something with just six buttons, on/off, channel up and down, volume up and down and a big blue button that selects AV on the TV, turns on the digital box and switches to RTE1:cool:

This is going to become a bigger issue for eldery people as more STBs are used for DTT.

I did a quick google and found this, http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=15133905 it does have many buttons though.

Three things I would do if I were you.
Contact the mod called The Ritz and get this thread moved to get more hits.

Get the mod to change the thread title - to include simple learning remote elderly.......

Contact the user Richersounds.ie (Ashley) , he is from the Phillips shop Ireland and is a very helpful guy who will know if Phillips have a good option for you. He can also check if Richer Sounds have such an option.

Let us know how you get on, I really hope your Aunt gets sorted.

    Take a look here too
