I've been thinking about getting that done too but its pretty expensive...my friend hired a seprate company to come in and video just the guest messages..it was great laugh watching it back ....but expensive! I'm hoping to have wedding video but then hiring another company to video the guest messages as well! ...I know the video message was pretty close to a grand

bit over my budget me thinks! but If you can afford it then why not :D

What about that video booth? It's not a person filming, it looks like a large scale like you get in the chemists, with a screen. You can watch yourself recording. It just stands in the corner and I'm sure the messages get funnier as the nite goes on...

Does anyone know the company who does these?

They're called Facebooth. Saw them at a fair this month- think it's about €500 for the night. They look great, way better than having a stranger shove a camera into your face! They give you two DVDs a few weeks later containing the messages, one edited and one (probably more fun!) unedited!
Think each message time is 45 seconds or so. It looks like great fun- we're thinking of getting one for my boy's dad's 60th birthday next year!

As a professional videographer I include guest messages as part of my package.
Most professionals wouldn’t just shove a camera in a persons face. I’m my own instance I would always ask “Would you like to leave a personal message to the bride & groom”. It would then be up the person themselves. If they chose not to , then just say “ Thanks for your time” and move on.

Video booths are a great idea but expensive for what you get.
