RS Account Terminated

    Not really sure of where to post this but here goes...


    I just got this mail from rapidshare:
    Your account (*******) has been disabled due to violating our Terms of Use (http://rapidshare.com/agb.html). The reason for this suspension is: uploading/downloading forbidden content.

    As you may have noticed, Rapidshare has improved its services, including extended measures to prevent the sharing of forbidden content including child pornography, racist media, and copyrighted material. The uploading and/or downloading of illegal content is strictly forbidden and we have begun to enforce these rules more strictly now.

    It may take a short time for your account to be fully disabled and removed from our servers, possibly taking up to 2-3 days. You may purchase a new account in the future as long as you comply with our Terms of Use.

    I mean WTF? I've been using the service for more than 2 years (paying for account), and now they delete it without warning? including racism and even child porn in the email?? Is this how you treat a loyal customer?

    I'm just really annyoed about this as I just extended my account for 6 months in the last couple of weeks.

    Anyone else get something like this?

    I presume it was for copyright material and not child porn or racist material.

    If it was i dont see the problem.

    umm.... YES! jesus... :)

    Actually I think the account was stolen as the sending domain looks a bit dodgy to me.

    also If I try to login using the account number if tells me that the pass is wrong.
    But if I try to login using my alias it tells me that it doesn't exist!

    This sounds dodgy to me anyway

    It looks this way but I'm really careful about checking the url..

    either that or someone was DNS poisining a network I was on at some stage...

    Or it could be that they actually disabled your account, the mail doesnt look like spam or similar, looks real enough

    Bit strange you are the only one though

    well ATM I am deifinatly thinking that it was stolen, this is really what's strange to me:
    also If I try to login using the account number if tells me that the pass is wrong.
    But if I try to login using my alias it tells me that it doesn't exist!

    This coupled with the strange domain that the mail was sent from leans to it being stolen.

    This sounds dodgy to me anyway

    I've mailed the support team directly and am waiting for them to get back to me. From what I hear they are a pretty good team, hopefully i'll be able to get my account back

    If its for breaking their T&C's due to copyright then I have no pitty what so ever, if however you've had your account breached then I hope you get it sorted

    Hi same thing happened to me a few weeks ago just send them your original receipt and they will reset your password

    CONFIRMED that my account was stolen..

    Just mailed them with some of my details (such as the date I extended along with my origional email and username) and they gave it back right away!

    word of advise to everyone that has an RS account: activate the lock that's inside the prem. zone!!
