the council have contractors in laying a new mains water pipe over ballyminaun hill (PA walsh hill) somewhere down to courtown via the ballycanew road , ballykale and riverchapel. part of a €7m investment project to improve the supply to the coatal area. last week the pipe was filled to be tested we presume and it burst somewhere on the ballyminaun hill causing the road to flood and breakaway. DOH!! closed for the last 5 days now at least
