fat burners - extra boost to lose weight???

Since February I have been working out pretty much every day, taking a weekend off here and there. I change my routine every 5 weeks so my body doesn't get too used to the same exercises. I have seen great improvement in the past few months.

I dont go by weight loss I take measurements weekly instead because I found that I used to get slightly obsessed with "weight"! Now I figure that toning and inch loss is a far better indicator.

The problem is that I have hit a plateau. its not budged in the last month and a half!!:( I am going away in the new year for a few months and would love to be able to wear (dare I say it) a bikini!!! I have never been of a size that I could be comfortable being seen in one so have never worn one - or a swimsuit (apart from when I was a child) My main problem area is my belly and love handles!!

Does anyone know if there are any good fat burners / weight loss tabs out there, as a quick fix - not for long term use. I just need that extra boost for the next 5 or 6 weeks.

Whats is your current diet and excercise plan like? It might be better to look at that before something like a fat metaboliser/fat blocker type thing.

If you have been dieting that long and your weight loss has now stalled, you need to take a couple of weeks off dieting.

Eat normally for a couple of weeks, give your body a break and then diet again, you will get much better results that way.

Any "fat burners" that are worth using are not legal in Ireland and are not really going to do you much good if you have been dieting that long and are now stalled.

I am Female and 25 not sure about my weight but i am 5 foot. At the moment I am doing a mix of weight training and cardio. my diet - I have weetabix or porridge each morning, a sandwich or else fruit and a yoghurt for lunch and dinner usually consists of potatoes meat and veg of some sort. I drink at least 1 litre of water a day and 3 cups of Pu'erh tea. I don't really consider that as a "diet" its just eating like I have always eaten. I don't think it is extreme by any stretch.

I wouldn't go near fat burners if I was you. Six weeks is a decent amout of time, in that you could safely loose almost a stone if you had to. You should look at it like a simple maths equation - calories in less calories used should be slightly less than your base amount of calories needed for your daily activities.

For a quick fix, you have two choices,
    1) increase the intensity of your workouts - maybe switch to circuit training, but make sure you are doing more, or doing the same with a lot more intensity.
    2) make small cutbacks to your daily food intake i.e one weetabix, or half a weetabix less each morning and no spuds or just one small spud for dinner.

You do seem to eat very little as is to be honest, and when you return, you might want to look a bit closer into your diet and exercise from a longer term perspective.
