Missing Volvo

    Hey,

    Not a regular poster here but I'm always havin a look, some interesting folk in this place!

    Anyway, I was up until recently the owner of a beloved Volvo 480 which (as they often do) went haywire on me and I was forced to sell for financial reasons. The new owner was meant to be restoring it and assured me he would keep in touch but as so often is the case it was up on donedeal again within about 2 months.
    Since then it has dissapeared and despite some attempts to find the whereabouts of the new owner it is as good as dead as far as I know.
    So I just said I'd ask here in case anybody has seen it running or in a scrapper somewhere or whatever. It's a 1991 Volvo 480 ES, reg 91C16580, met. grey with black bumpers. Heard it could be in Waterford but not certain by any means.
    This probably seems a bit weird but it was my first car, lots of sentimental attachment not to mention an awful lot of money spent on it!

    have you any friendly gardai that you could ask ?

    or know anybody in your local car tax office that might do a quick discreet search & find out who the current owner is !!!!

    worth a try :)

    Last taxed July 2009,it was an import too.Listed as having four owners in this country.

    PM 2CV. I am certain he bought one of similar description earlier this year but sold it on again. Although I think his was a Waterford reg if I remember correctly??

    Many thanks to Volvoman for remembering me and taking the time to let me know that this car was for sale.

    I went to look at it today but unfortunately the car is well beyond repair from an economic point of view at least and has been sitting in a yard for the last two years. The guy I sold it to (a member here I believe) sold it on to the current seller for much more than what I originally let it go for and did no work to it whatsoever.

    Pity because it was a nice car at one stage, perhaps somebody with a major wad of cash could save it but that's not me. Dissapointing but not totally suprising, at least I know what happened to it now.

    David, I hope you find some way of reigning in that 480. Give me a shout if you need any help. Damn, I should have got those 480 parts off you sooner :p

    Edit: Ah, not sounding too good so ... but remember I have two of them as spares cars if you're tempted?
