Samoans & punching power.

What is it about Samoans and the ability to punch hard? Look at the likes of David Tua in boxing, or Mighty Mo and Mark Hunt and Ray Sefo in K-1. Is it their inherent short stocky build? Is there any upcoming samoans under the radar?

    This the kind of thing?
I'd love to see Mo fight in the heavyweight division. He's Ko'd a 7foot monster so he's one up on Haye:D

Aye, that's him. He had 1 pro boxing fight but couldn't find his feet (actully, I checked, he fought twice after that and score 2 first round Ko's). He has knocked out Francois Botha in K1 however, with punches.

They have a higher percentage of fast twitch muscle fibre too. Thats why they are suited to "power" sports like rugby or grid iron that benefit from short bursts of explosive power. The flip side is they are more prone to putting on weight and stamina could be an issue. Mo, Sefo and Tua all seem to tire quite noticeably late in a fight.
