if you were arrested and convicted then you can't tick 'no'.
My advice would be to bring all papers and documents regarding it to the embassy and explain the case, don't try to cover up anything because if discovered you could be screwed for a long time regarding being admitted to the states

I'd say keep your mouth firmly shut about it. they're not going to check u out unless your name pops up on some terrorist list

Not true. My mate was denied entry in Dublin because of a drink driving offense. The Irish share almost everything with the US so the offense might as well have been in the US. If you are honest about it up front you have a decent chance of getting in. But if you lie and are caught it's an automatic 10 year ban of travel to the US pending review at the end.

But not to say there isn't a chance that you might slip through and i'm sure plenty have before. I'd only risk it if i was prepared to get caught.

Did your mate tell them about it or keep stump? loads of people with all sorts of small convictions travel to the us regularly, without saying anything about it and have no problems

    beartooth issued with infraction.

Next person to advocate any illegal activity such as lying on a visa application will receive a ban.

Nah he never said anything. He was going away with his girlfriend and some friends to NY. Got to the immigration counter in Dublin airport and something must have come up when they scanned his passport. Got taken to a room and 2 weeks later received a travel ban for 10 years. Can't remember if he said they can review it if he needs to travel to the US again or whether it was to be reviewed when the 10 years are up. I think the former sounds more correct.
