Would you consider yourself a failure in life?

I am in college in a good course, I have lots of friends and I am happy in life more often than not, and yet I am a failure. The reason I consider myself to be a failure is the fact that so many people my age are already rich and famous, like actresses and sports stars etc., whereas I am basically nobody. Some people would say that I have too high a standard, but I think that rings hollow when I see people of 18, 19 or 20 on TV and in newspapers succeeding in life.

So what about you? Do you think you are a failure or a success?

You only start being a failure when you think you're a failure tbh.

Allot of the famous people you're talking about are rotten to the core. Be happy in yourself. y'know?

The people you are referring to have 5 minutes of fame and are tossed to the side like a piece of trash. If you think about it, one or two have only been properly successful. Trust me you have a rich life as it is, not a lot of people are so lucky.

Your parameters for measuring success and failure are a little skewed.Just a little adjustment and success will be yours.

I'm a failure when compared to someone like Bill Gates. I'm a huge success when you compare me to mere peasants such as yourselves.

For me, success in life =/= fame
Success is happiness, contentment and comfort

Jesus, you're 18. I mean, there's enough "I'm so old" whingeing from 24-year-olds on Boards but at least they have six years on you...

18-20 year olds who succeed in life are either a) exceptionally talented or b) extermely ignorant ****wits. Generally the later.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    That doesn't sound like failure!

Anyway, that showbiz life isn't all it's cracked up to be. Most (not all) 'stars' have either a drink, drug or eating disorder and not many real friends. I wouldn't particularly like to live like that to be honest.

So you have tried to be an actress or a sports star and failed? If not how could you be a failure at something you never tried? As if life is judged by on screen minutes.

    I don't know.. Relatively succesful.
I'm far better off financially than 95% of those my age.. But I dislike my job and would find it very hard to do what I really want to do so...

I have to agree with you. Anyone who is that shallow is definitely a failure.

Have you any talent that warrants you being rich and famous? If you do, and you're not, then there's a failure in there somewhere.

If you don't, your idea of success and failure is ridiculous.
