Hey I was thinking of buying a set of wireless transmitters instead of getting multiroom subsciption. Does anyone know if they can be used with UPC and if you can control your box from another room. Also what is the best one price wise and where can i get them?

Assume you are referring to Digital:

I have a set of 'digisenders' I got in argos (maplins may also stock them) that work with the UPC set box and you can control the remote from different rooms.

BUT remember that one box = one station, to have true multiroom viewing you need a set top box for each room

If you are referring to analogue , you shall need a set top box in the form of eg a DVD player and again you can only transmit the one channel ie the one on the DVD

    Hi Infoanon,

Are these any good? A bit off topic, but I want to use something similar with my Skybox to a TV around 20 meters away (2 walls blocking the direct line of sight)... I guess it would be the same setup as with the UPC box?

Main worry is the quality of the transmitted/Received signal especially with a price tag of around EUR 100 @ Argos...

    Cheerio

    Thanks MAJJ...

Doesn't say anything if it will remotely control the device you're using accessing though; most likely not :(

PQ is still my main concern...

Get a 5.8Ghz video sender instead of the regular 2.4Ghz one's.

They don't suffer from interference from wireless internet's and other things

Signal will drop off with walls etc but I am able to use at 30ms through 2 thick walls with no problems but beyond that I get drop off
