    Great actor. RIP.

Do the younger folk remember The Equalizer? One of the best programs on TV in the late 80's.

    Refresh your memory http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Equalizer

We need an Equalizer to deal justice to the scum...oops, we have The Citizen for that :)

Loved Edward Woodward as The Equaliazer. But his terrified 'Lord is my shepherd' speech in the Wickerman is one of the most haunting images with sound I can think of.

I watched The Wicker Man last friday night, for the first time in ages. What a weird/great movie.

Came across as a nice guy.

One of the guys from The Police did that theme tune IIRC.

    RIP.

Loved the Equaliser, recently bought Series 1 of it, haven't watched/rewatched it yet.

And for any Babylon 5 nerds out there, "Galen" (Peter Woodward) in Babylon 5 Crusade was Edward Woodwards son.

    RIP.

I can remember vividly staying up later than my bedtime on Thursday nights as a kid to watch The Equalizer. Loved the theme tune too. I loved it when he would go right up to the boss of whichever gang he was dealing with without fear and watching the other guy flinching at been stood up to.

Yes and any 'real' B5 fans would know Edward Woodward made the occasional appearance in the original B5. God that show was great. For some reason he's not credited for it on IMDB or wikipedia thou.

There was something kinda attractive about him too - even as that uptight policeman in The Wickerman.

    Love this movie of his:

Whoever wondered about the Equalizer tune - Stewart Copeland wrote the score for the series.

Callan , nice gritty claustrophobic realistic spy series , no car chases, no explosions

And don't forget he was also Alwyn , a technomage on Crusade - small part but it makes up for the dumbed down Equaliser which I consider his pension plan.

When asked by Eric Morecambe who would ever appear in one of Ernie Wise's 'little plays what he wrote', Ernie replied "Edward Woodward would."

"Why does Edward Woodward has so many Ds in his name?"
"Because otherwise he would be ewar woowar".
