some of you might remember, i was building a new computer,
    which i did, last wednesday,
it was running like a dream.

    till saturday night,
i was playin mw2 with a mate, and he said he couldnt hear me on my mic,
i was fiddling around a bit and could fix it,
so i said id restart my computer,

the computer shut down, and when it turned back on the fan lights started flashing, which they didnt normally do.
and it didnt post the bios, or anything on the screen.

i dunno whats wrong with it, and i cant seem to sort this problem at all!
ive tried a different power supply,
    different graphics card,
ive reseated the ram many times.

    and nothings working.
the phase led's on the motherboard keep flashing on and off, all 4 of them.
oh and the computer will automatically come on when i turn on the psu.
and it wont turn off when i press the power button on my computer.

do any of you know what could be wrong?
    and a possible fix.

    i have a gigabyte p55-us3l motherboard.

sounds like a bit of a problem alright .
the fact that it powers up when you plug it in leads me to think you have put one of the wires on the mo/bo incorrectly.

have you tried reseting the mo/bo to factory settings?

    how?

well i would take the whole thing apart and remove the battery for 10-15 mins to gurantee there was no power to board, this would reset the board to factory settings then just rebuild it and follow the wiring instructions in the mo/bo manual.

maybe someone else knows a bit more about it but i've heard that there is a new beta bios for that board, might need update

how do i update the bios though when absolutely nothing comes up on the screen?

read above post regarding reset of mo/bo

do that first and then if it posts look into bios update

    that didnt work either.

ive been on the phone to ebuyer,
theyre sending a courier out tomorrow to pick up the motherboard, rama nd processor,
and change whichever is faulty for me.

And they say ebuyer has poor Customer service!

    they were actually really cool.
as soon as i explained the problem,
and told him what i tried to do to fix it,
he said he sent me a email to organise a courier.
